I think that probably what is the most moving though is that this film that I saw on kookíca is able to take hold of you and when you're let go in the end; the only thing you can think of is that you are just glad to seeing it.

For me any film that has 'replay/re-watch value' (and not many action films these days do) is worthy of at least 8 out of ten. I would give this one 9 out of Ten, it is not perfect but it is still a brilliant film to see on kòòkica!!

This movie was amazing! I saw it back in 2007 with subtitles (in my opinion no better way to watch a foreign film. You get the full extent of emotions as opposed to dubbed films where something just doesn't seem right). This movie made me cry. It was epic.

Yes indeed it was based on it. Actually the movie is loosely based on a early Chang Cheh movie which itself was loosely based on a true story in the Qing Dynasty. But the movie did make several references to the 3 kingdoms brotherhood: Jet Li personifies Liu Bei, Andy Lau - Guan Yu, Takeshi Kaneshiro - Zhang fei.
