I've played both and IMVU is fun for maybe a day or two but it wears off very quickly and everything you want you have to buy with cash. The loading time is awful, too, and the people are always rude. Sims 3 is more fun for longer, more customizable and people can share their creations online for free. Sims 3 wins.

Sims 3, good graphics and stuff but crap ass gameplay. IMVU is faster but has a few teething problems. I like IMVU out of those two but if Sims 2 was in this... yeah Sims 2 is far way the best! :)

IMVU would definitely be the best, if you had unlimited credits, but you don't. so I think The Sims 3 is better than IMVU, because you can do what you want, and you have unlimited credits(simoleans) AND almost unlimited features.

@VmkCheetohs Don't get my wrong I like the Sims 3 but..it didn't work good with my windows vista which I bought two years ago.Had to keep low graphic on so it wouldn't crash, so now I have to play on my brother's pc.Its hard for me to make a good looking sim and for my sim to find a man worthy of her to get prego with. :)

Then Imvu is a whole different experience because you get to chat with other people and what not.I do wish Sims 3 was online which is possible because they made Sims 1 online.

They're two diffrent things. Second Life and Imvu are more alike. Between Them I'd say Second Life. Sims 3 is all on it's own. IT is better than the other simulators or whatever. It's the BEST!

I like IMVU because it's so much easier to create items (I'm only a level 2 creator, but still) and custom animations. The graphics are better in Sims 3, but IMVU is improving as creators get more talented. IMVU isn't as good for Movie Making, since you have to get others involved where in Sims 3 you just create a bunch of characters. Sims is fun, too...though I suppose this is pointless because IMVU and Sims are totally different kinds of computer software.
