  • I'm actually Edward I. Duran Duran were big in the 13th Century.

  • Definitely a classic of the 80s! Wild Boys, Union of the Snakes, Hungry Like A Wolf, Rio, ...... I love them all!

  • Ah. The girl at 3:00. I was so in love with her the summer of '84. I was 13 and would have gladly shared my nachos with her at the skating rink. Bet she's brutal to look at now.

  • super ! DURAN DURAN**; quelle plaisir* de les voir , souvenir* des années 80**; ils sont beaux*, sympa*....... j aime bien cette chanson*. . . merci a vous pour votre vidéo : )

  • This is a good song & GOD do I miss the 80s.

  • My mom (b. 1971) used to love Duran Duran and Simon Le Bon was her crush as a teenager :)

  • Happy Birthday Simon LeBon.

  • Back in the days when music was music.

  • what is "The Reflex"?

love the song, jut needto know ...lol

  • @Ravagefrenzy79 There was some suggestion that it was referring to a penis....... Simon & his formidable, cryptic lyrics!

  • "The reflex" mix was done by legendary Nile Rodgers of CHIC fame and was reaching #1 in both the United Kingdom and the United States.

    Huge 80's hit.

  • The Reflex of the 80's

  • The sexiest song of the Eighties..........

  • best music ,music 80s !!!

  • legit

  • i'm 16 years old and i said i love 80s

  • Ya know.......I was a big metal-head in the 80's. Everyone in our school was into old 60's and 70's stuff and generally hated the music of our generation. The biggest event of the 80's for me was Ian Gillan joining Black Sabbath. I generally couldn't have given a toss for the girly-man bands coming out of England, but I have to admit I liked this song for some strange reason. Just goes to show, there seems to be one good song in every band.

  • Bowies baby to stay.

  • I absolutely LOVE this video/song!

  • zajebiaszcza muza:)))

  • This got deleted on my mp3. I was so mad!!!

  • first song that I'm going to put on my ipod.

  • Back in the days when music was music.

  • na na na na

  • This was tha shiznit back in the day ! Im glad i was born in 68 to catch all these good joints and witness the magic as a big time 80's teen !

  • Okay I'll be the first to admit that I had clothes like Simon's. Best fashion statement of the entire 80's decade.

  • Why is it that a majority of todays British Musicians don't sound like they even bother trying to make it to american music charts? I thought at one time that was a achievement was to try and and be famous in both Britain and America.

  • @trechan I think it's because of The Marketing. While The UK always has room for Boy Bands & Girl Groups, in The US it's always about Supply & Demand. Also, I feel that the UK are more "Open" to various Types of Groups, ie Girl Groups, Guy Groups, Co_Ed Groups, and Interracial Groups. Sadly enough alot of Groups from this Era are no longer selling Records so I think that The US may be a bit fickle of taking a chance on a New Group from the UK.

  • im 13 and i love them i so wish i was a teen in the 80s!!!!!

  • @purplerools I'm 2 and I love them too.

  • @trechan LOL!

  • @purplerools Your profile states you're 20?

  • 11 ans, Forbach, France...

    Souvenirs...

  • Oh MY GODS!!!! I'm 15 AGAIN! DAYUM!

  • @deneyael

    Yes, 15 x 3.

    :D

  • @Calatafimi X3!!!! SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't tell nobody XD

  • @deneyael

I promise ! Hey go to bed, naughty boy !!! :)

  • John, will you marry me?

    I love DD!!!

  • justin beiber created 53 accounts ad disliked this

  • Too many ppl criticise the 80's for the hair styles, clothes and music, now looking at this clip it looks fine to me, looking at todays crowd makes me yawn with the boring outfits they wear, the music is crap( maybe some is good) good God even the clothes lack style, we have these stupid gay fashion designers who couldn't even design a condom. 80's are the best, 90's a close second.

Thumbs up if you're tired of looking back and wishing the present would change so the future will be great!!!

  • When this song came out I was 12 and I saw the video debut on MTV...

    John Taylor = Instant Love!!!

    *sighhhhh*

    lol!

  • Wow! Simon LeBon really worked a stage! :)

They were already so ridiculously huge, but he definitely doesn't take it for granted (none of them do).

  • I wonder just what were people's reactions when they saw this for the very first time. I dont remember what mine was

  • the reflex isn't torch to finding the treasure in the dark

  • Long live Duran Duran and the 80's.

  • Hang on those drums samples...

they are from Power station, no?"get it on"??

  • after all these years Duran Duran still belt out a good tune. When i was in high school I was obsessed with Duran Duran & there music. im now 39 yrs old & still hang out to listne to there music. Whenever I have been happy or sad in my life I always turn to Duran Duran's music. Cant wait for the new album to be released, hanging out!!!. Love u guys...Please promote this new album when released & do another world tour & come to AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

  • @jo25182518 I just loved what you wrote. This was truly MY band, & they put me in so many great moods(made me lust after them, too, lol), like you said, esp. when I was down. I was always influenced by alot of the British bands in the 80s growing up, but also, from your Aussie bands(if I did read that correctly, that you are from over there). My first influences were from several Aussie artists. I just turned 40, & I still am just as euphoric about D2, when I turn on their tunes, as then.

  • im black and i grew up loving simon lebon! the 80s ruled!!!

  • FYI...this video was shot in Toronto, at Maple Leaf Gardens....

  • I've always liked Duran Duran

  • @brianclough really? I you sure you aren't lying? I mean.. I'm very concerned about this and I might hold an inquiry...

  • @bluesgurugod oh dear, i plead guilty to all charges

  • YUMMY!!!!!

  • oooo I bet they'r still all hot !!!! <3

  • I remember this vid beating out ever other video on MTV's Friday night video fight. Viewers could call in and vote for their favorite video and The Reflex even beat out Van Halen's Jump before being retired!

  • bei tempi.........

  • cute chick dancing at 3:00 ;)

  • i saw this tour!!! they were so awsome!!

  • Timeless this music is.

  • I remember the eightees Bowie "let's dance" Duran duran great time !

  • Gone with da metal and back with the 80's.

  • Love this one too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Back in the days when music was music.

  • Electrifying! They were on top form here..........

  • this video was filmed at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto.....still love that girl at 2:44 ... John Taylor referred to her in an interview as well

  • i love this video. I fell in love with Simon LeBon when I saw this video

  • greats

  • Duran Durans best ever- just look at the audience- (Ive got) total immersion in the music- really original lyrics, dancing in the aisles-, waterfalls, Good God, who could ask for anything more? 1:27... 2:44..

Not one but TWO of the most awesome moments in music video history in all existence, coupled with John (Nigel) Taylor... the coolest 80's dude ever...

    perfection

  • It's like DeJaVu all over again... when I was a CaveMan some 130 thousand years ago, I used to sit in my cave, thinking about this cool song and the vid

    Just awesome

  • I wonder what this songs about.

  • Saints Row 2

  • One of the best bands of the 80s.

  • great video and timeless one of the best songs by this artist.

  • One of the best band's ever!!!!!

  • Check out that guy at scene 1:33. He dances like me.

  • The reflex....

  • Que tempos.....

  • You know you just don't find music to be this good anymore. Agree?

  • OMG I had the biggest crush on Simon and John!! I have to admit, hearing this song again brings it all back!! My heart is racing again like it was back then!! Love it!!

  • @oneshot1760 i was 3 years old when i had a crush on Simon now i am 28...and i remember saying that i would marry him!!!!it s so funny!!!Still a big fun!!!!!!!

  • I love this song, this group. I am the same age as the performers, so I know the impact that they, had. Reminds me that you should enjoy your 20s as growing into your later 40s, you still have fun, but you do remember, your youth and great groups such has DURAN DURAN

  • LOL listen at all those screaming fans

  • This is my second choice for there best two record the best record to me has to be the Long Version of WILD BOYS !!!!!! and yes i do agree with kindhearted1 they are timeless .......

  • I'm really digging the guys dancing in the seats. That's the way to party!

  • This is classic great that goes well to any party, great songs made in the 80's

  • classic ! U_Uº!

  • I have always absolutely loved this song!! Such a rockin song from such a great band!! Duran Duran sure put out some great songs during this time! Such an amazing band!! Wow, the memories that come with this song!! Such great memories, the best really! Such a great era to grow up in!! Why it all had to change, I guess that is life but hard to let go of what we loved the most. I will always miss the 80's but I hold the memories tightly in my heart forever. Missing the 80's. 80's forever!!

  • incredible band!!!

  • Reflex 1:33.

And he saw that is was awesome.

  • I so remember when I went to see them in concert back in the 80´s absolutely brilliant!

  • they were meant to be about image as well as the music but that's one uber mullet on the guitarist

  • Dehliciah@@

  • I love this song! And that was an actual concert, not just a music video. Similar to what GNR did for You Could Be Mine and Arnold Schwarzeneggar.... But, they just hired people to be concertgoers...

  • I sure wish I was in this video. Looks like the people there were having fun. god bless

  • I'm just curious. Back in the days of videos being shown on MTV, did the same videos shown hourly or how did that work?

  • @roosevelthighschool Wow..Good Question. In the old days VH1 had the Countdown every day. I don't remember what MTV did...Now I'm curious...I'm going to find out.

  • I heard years ago that it was about a ballet dancer but that may have been just a rumour.

  • Quite possibly the best DD song ever recorded. What is this song about exactly?

  • @roosevelthighschool -Good question, I was curious, too. Here's what a fan wrote: I, being a HUGE Duran Duran fan, can shed some light on this song. Back in the 80's when I had the word book for the album and meanings, this song simply was about a person being on stage, forgetting words and making them up as he went along. Take for instance "I'm on a ride and I want to get off/but they won't slow down around the bout, I sold the Renoir and the tv set/don't want to be around when this gets out".

  • I haven't seen this video in ...20 years and it brings back sweet memories. I saw them play their first tour in the US (3 times - yes, I was a "Duranee" and darn proud too!) in...think it was 84 and they are just as good and still relevant today.

  • the scary thing is the vid effects back then were state of the art

  • awsome concert

  • im almost positive this was filmed in Toronto @ the Maple Leaf Gardens. (1984) i was there :-) FLE-FLE-FLEXXXXX!

    lol

  • @worlds99 Yes, it was filmed at Maple Leaf Gardens. Lucky you, got to be there.

  • They are timeless! While other 80's groups have come and gone, Duran Duran still shines. I love them! This is great MUSIC, not today's whatever it is lol

  • One of the soundtracks of my youth..this was quite the sensation years ago. Now when I see this I laugh.

  • i think thats my dad dancing at 1:30 ={

  • @varanana3 What makes you think that? If it is, can you say hi to him for me?

  • My kids tell me that once in a while except that I played in the bands, keyboards, still do and they come to all our shows. I fly them in if we go abroad.

  • Look at the guy dancing 1:30 into the video. ROFL

  • Love this song.

  • This crip is the best one i've ever seen.

  • My favorite scene in this video forever will be the part where you see the guy dancing at scene 1:33.

  • Agreed.

  • Intriguing song here.

  • Whoooah, such pizzazz! Brings back so many good memories of the 80's. Music then had real engery, real craft, real musicians, real lyrics & real style unlike most of the banal crap these days! Duran Duran has always been my fav band. So fantastic that they are still making ace music nearly 30 years later. Nick looked oh so sexy in this video; what a pout; very provoking..........

  • rama. how was it? had a chance to see them in los angeles in 85 and missed. congratulations on watching one of the cool bands of the 80's

  • I didn't like it that much back then. I love it now. Great bassline by John Taylor!

80's music is underrated i think

  • Everytime I watch this video, I think back to when MTV was fun to watch. You could watch your favorite videos and life was easier to understand then vs. now.

  • True, but do you remember the constant fear of nuclear war? The best thing about the past is that you can pick off the good bits, as if they were pepperoni that you stole from your sisters slice of pizza, and leave the onions and crust...

  • @lazyweb: Now just what the hell do slices of pepperoni pizza have to do with what I said? Just curious.

  • I totally love Duran Duran!! Always have ever since i heard the album "Seven and the Ragged Tiger". What an Awesome album along with "Rio". I played the crap out of both of those albums back in the day. Now, i play the crap out of the cd's !! What an awesome era for music!! I am so glad I was there to enjoy the 80's and that I have such great memories of this era. There will never be a time like it again. Missing the 80's and all the great times. 80's forever!!

  • I remember the Silver Spoons episode about 1000 years ago when Ricky and Derek were in NYC chatting up cheerleaders or something who only wanted DD tix!!

  • I was in the audience! Old Maple Leaf Gardens it was crazy

  • What year were you in the audience? I know that duran duran was at the ACC in 2005. I'm just curious, hope you don't mind me asking. Cheers and thank you!

  • @rama771 - Sorry, I didn't know this video was shot at Maple Leaf Gardens in 1984. I would have loved to have been there.

  • the greatest band ever! :D

  • *______________*

  • oh hell yes, lets get this great iconic music back in circulation, enough of this new age garbage with no rythem or soul..

  • True and very true

  • I am not that fan but I predict the 2010's will see a big Duran Duran 80's songs return and remix (notice I didn't say the 90's songs).

  • Yep! Duran Duran is (was?) a real band and despite the fact that some people don't like them doesn't mean that they weren't good and wrote songs that will remain long after anyone will be able to remember who the hell were BSB, N'Sync, Five or whatever.

  • I consider Duran Duran to be the Backstreet Boys of the 80's. Does that sound weird? Be honest.

  • They actually played musical instruments, as opposed to doing cheesy synchronized dance numbers. They wrote all their own songs. They may have had some cheesy but they weren't really a boy band. Boy bands were assembled by some corporate music industry types.

  • @RainPoetry: So what? I know they wrote thier own songs.

  • What do you mean "so what"? You asked for his opinion and he gave it. There is a major difference between a talentless boy-band who don't play instruments or write songs and a classic pop band who stand the test of time

  • @roosevelthighschool: lol. "So what?" That's a good one. Well, in answer to the question posed in your original comment, yes you sound "weird."

  • The difference between Duran Duran and the Backstreet Boys is that Duran wrote their own material and played their own instruments and were a band prior to their rise to fame; whereas the Backstreet Boys were more like the Monkees, a prepackaged and commercialized "act" who were created by Lou Pearlman. Their entire careers were shaped by managers and parents and most of them could neither play music nor write it. The only connection is that they were both admired by goofy teenage girls.

  • The Monkees were manufactured but they did seek to break away from that which created them and took more control over their music, incidentally two of them were professional musicians and Mike of the group was also a song writer.

  • Yeah, I realize that and know all about the musical accomplishments of the Monkees, prior to them being the Monkees. Stephen Stills was considered for a part, BTW. However, I was just using them as a model of a prefabricated and made for tv "band" in order to make my point about the backstreet boys being a different type of group than duran duran. I probably should have used the new kids on the block as the example, instead.

  • Yeah the New Kids weren't anywhere near as good as the Monkees. Still what is manufactured is manufactured it all depends on the people the manufacturers put into the product.

  • @ritter89 right on point.

  • @roosevelthighschool they are nothing near or anything like backstreet boys... NEW kids on the block was the backstreet boys of the 80's...would be a better comparison... duran duran is summerized by @junglejack1978

  • @bignigbignig: I just mean that they were as popular then as the Backstreet Boys were in the 90's. Sorry to confuse you.

  • Heh, that's funny! I just made the exact same comparison (above) before i even read your post..Yes, the BSBoys were the NKOTB of the 90s, a prefabricated "band" that was the creation of managers and studios execs, not the members. The idea of the group existed before the actual members They didn't organically form into a band like Duran Duran did. BTW, although i enjoy several songs by DD, I'm not really a huge fan and therefore have no idea how i got into this little debate about the group(lol)

  • @bignigbignig I understand 100% what you're saying and everything but is what I was trying to say was that Duran Duran was as popular as Backstreet Boys. Think about it.

  • They were and still are a REAL band.. boysbands like BSB and all the others were/are just a bunch of guys assembled together by music marketeers

  • Prettiest boy band of the 80's. OMG, still get excited everytime i watch this. LOL

  • I put them above typical boy band status... in the respect that they wrote and played the songs. I liked them as a kid, then got to see them in college when they did they came back with Ordinary World... even as older guys now, they still killed it. Amazing show, and flat out good tunes. This coming from someone who likes old school punk and hip hop. Duran Duran's just classic.

  • Damn, I sure do miss the good old days. Music will never EVER be the same again. Sorry.

  • if only this music made a comeback

  • @djrocks65 In order for this music to make a comeback you would need an audience to support it on TV, radio and in concerts. Those of us who love this kind of music are movers and shakers now, moms and dads, etc. etc. We can't really see Duran Duran this week and U2 the week after that and watch MTV 5 hours out of the day listen to radio for another 3 like we used to.. The music industry has been American Idolized which has no room for groups with instruments. Dancing music today sucks

  • Great song =]

  • Sono i migliori al mondo.

    From Sicily

  • VERY NICE....

  • 80's videos had so much style and energy.

  • great song and great band!

  • Awesome song..Awesome video.... these guys were way ahead of their time....Class act all the way.... :)

  • Very popular band and not to mention how handsome they were/are.

  • j'adore cette chanson mais le clip est vraiment trop pourri...

  • I'm homesick for Duran Duran.

I like John Tayior very much!!

  • @ruhana114 We all miss him.

  • Really?

    i'm crazy about John!!

    He is verry nice!!

  • @ruhana114: Which one is John Taylor?
