I remembered getting a box set of My Little Pony when I was eight and watching them back to back every weekend. I love the old version much better than FiM. And I still love watching it. I thought I was the only one over the age of 10 that still liked watching this. Guess I'm not alone :P
This generation is lovely. I love it. The animation is splendid for being so old.. And some bronies say this is too childish. Well it was aimed at children, so of course it's childish. I grew up watching this. And without all the other generations your precious FiM would cease to exist. So be a REAL brony and love AND appreciate all the previous generations.
@InuyashaCutey I don't think you're any less of a brony if you don't like this. And I'm speaking as a G1 Equestria Girl. I got my nieces to watch this show finally and they like it. I wasn't crazy about G 3.5, but that doesn't make me less of an Equestria Girl, or Pegasister, if you will.

@MeOhSugerMay I don't think they meant to teach that it is ok to talk like that at 6 years old(this show also had an adult pony named Windwhistler that used large words). It is more to show off that they are really young. I babysat kids that were toddlers and they did not speak with the best grammar (often worse but it depends on the kid some talk better than others). Also it is more up to the parents and later school to teach them language skills not a cartoon.
I feel bad for all the trolling children who only know of MLP:FiM and didn't get to experience the golden age of fun toys and cartoons. The 1980s.
For the record I really enjoy FiM a lot as an adult, but I grew up watching GEEWUN everything. You should be greatful for 80s cartoons, even if you are an ignorant child now because it's the only reason your FiM meme exists today.

Plus, In comparison to most of what it's surrounded by, FiM kind of is better. It legitimately entertains on several levels and manages to touch our hearts. It also addresses things in the real world as this show did, while still bringing back the magic and laughter of childhood. The Bronies will mellow. They're just hyped that FiM has set them free.
@ZeldaTheSwordsman I hope they will mellow...I do enjoy FiM but they make me want to hate it. Yes, I'll agree FiM is better quality and can appeal to kids and adults, but I don't know...there's just nothing like the cheesy girly crap that the old series had (in my opinion). And actually, my big preference is MLP Tales, so I'm a bit "odd" in my taste as well, since most older members of the community prefers the original G1 series to Tales. :-P
@MahBoi22 I'm reasonably confident they'll mellow. Remember how the Rainbow of Darkness appeared to have totally consumed the Rainbow of Light before the Rainbow of Light overpowered it?
And don't sweat them hyping it as the best thing ever, all fandoms do that. At least they're not as bad as the more vocal fans of any given sport. Part of why Bronies (who have technically been around since G1) praise FiM so much is that it allowed them to come out of the closet about BEING Bronies.
Hey, come on now. I'm going to toss my hat in the ring and say that I loved the old MLP when I was a little girl, and FiM helped me to rediscover it. At the core I don't think MLP fans really, truly have anything to fight about. I really wish we could get along, or at least tolerate each other. As a fan of the old and new MLP, I feel a little torn between two worlds here.

It has its flaws just like every other goddamn cartoon ever created. Yes, it's better quality in animation than the other series, but I hate that everyone seems to think FiM is fucking flawless.

@MahBoi22 It's how they express their love. I'm sure you told your own stories about the ponies from this toon when you were a kid. Plus, In comparison to most of what it's surrounded by, FiM kind of is better. It legitimately entertains on several levels and manages to touch our hearts. It also addresses things in the real world as this show did, while still bringing back the magic and laughter of childhood. The Bronies will mellow. They're just hyped that FiM has set them free.

Yes, I'll agree FiM is better quality and can appeal to kids and adults, but I don't know...there's just nothing like the cheesy girly crap that the old series had (in my opinion). And actually, my big preference is MLP Tales, so I'm a bit "odd" in my taste as well, since most older members of the community prefers the original G1 series to Tales. :-P

And don't sweat them hyping it as the best thing ever, all fandoms do that. At least they're not as bad as the more vocal fans of any given sport. Part of why Bronies (who have technically been around since G1) praise FiM so much is that it allowed them to come out of the closet about BEING Bronies.

Hey, come on now. I'm going to toss my hat in the ring and say that I loved the old MLP when I was a little girl, and FiM helped me to rediscover it. At the core I don't think MLP fans really, truly have anything to fight about. I really wish we could get along, or at least tolerate each other. As a fan of the old and new MLP, I feel a little torn between two worlds here.
