  • Still remember watching this live and then matebkiche on the same show. wWould never have bought a Souad Massi record otherwise. couldn't believe how influenced she was by paul simon, beautiful music, have all her albums and listening to both Raoui & Deb on the Emirates song collection made two hours pass by very happily.

  • I hate the 8 haters!

  • Souad is Algerian , But im a big Egyptian fan

    Viva l'Algerie

  • Comment removed

  • Is she Algerian or Egyption?

  • @smileleena shes Algerian

  • For all the stupid people. She's still an Arab. She was born in a muslim arabic speaking country. Just because Algeria isn't necessarily in the middle-east and lies on the African continent(Just as Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Mauritania and Libya) It's still considered to be an Arab country.... Thank you stupid people. Just for making me lose what litte faith I had in you. You obviously don't check out facts. Nor do you bother reading and investigating things.

  • A beautiful voice...a very calming melody...I wish I was able to understand the words.

  • respect to my Arab brothers from Algeria !

    from arabs from israel !

  • Make us understand the meaning of the world

Oh storyteller tell it just as they told you

Don't add anything, don't leave anything out

We could see into your mind

Narrate to make us forget this time

Leave us at once upon a time

  • ENGLISH TRANSLATION: Oh storyteller tell us a story Make it a tale Tell me about the people of old Tell me about 1001 Nights And about Lunja daughter of the Ghoul And about the son of the Sultan I'm about to tell a story We'll be far from this world I'm about to tell a story Everyone of us has a story in his heart Narrate and forget we're adults In your mind we're young Tell us about heaven and hell About the bird that never flew in his life

  • @seliball she is not arab!!!!!! she Amazigh.

  • Comment removed

  • @seliball SHE IS NOT ARAB SHE IS AMAZIGH !!!!! AND, SHE SINGS AMAZIGH , ARABIC AND FRENCH

  • souad massi is an kabyle singer she sing on two language arab and amazigh music...great artist

  • @alkhouzama She also sings very well in French. Overall, she moves between cultures with considerable grace, being deeply rooted in Tamazigh and broader Algerian/Maghrebi culture, yet fully Westernized, as when she sings with French balladeer Marc Lavoine. Some of her music takes its form from Arabic styles, some from French. She is always lovely and graceful, and a perfect ambassador of one culture to the other. The fanatics who hate her should be ashamed of themselves and the harm they do.

  • @alkhouzama algerienne mouslima.

  • Magnifique!

  • Magnifique!

  • @dmouter1 berber is the name romans decided to call us!! meaning barbars!! we are all tribes! there are the imazighen the mzab the chawi ... and so on!! it breaks my heart to see people not understand that we are all different tribes united in one country!! very few of are are 100% arab but that doesnt matter! what matters is that we re all Algerians!!! we are all Algerians and a difference in a tribe shouldnt make us hate each other!!! learn your history first! peace!

  • Magnificent Music, I have been hearing some great Gnaw and Rai music over the past one year- Jil Jilala, Nass El Ghiwan, Idir, Souad Massi and Ait. In my honest opinion arts-Music,Poetry,Literature should be designed to teach the society the essence of good values-Brotherhood,Sharing,Revolution and right to question wrong and stand against oppression. I call Souad Massi as the Joan Baez or Joni Mitchell of Algeria

  • One of the most Underestimated arabian Musicians , very talented .

Arabs probably didn't make big of her because of her Zeppelin , Beatles and CCR influences , and because of her western image and her political lyrics , and probably because she's a woman .

  • Although the lyrics are very simple the song is full of meanings and it's a reference to terrorism period in Algeria, for example when she says "evryone has a story in his heart" it means everyne has problems but let's try to forget it listening to the raoui "story teller" and go back to our childhood memories and who says childhood says innocence and ignorance of all society problems....

  • @amzoun who talked about arabs? well I'm Algerian and I feel Arab too! please let's not argue about origins coz it has no sense! Plus, Algerians are a mixture of Amazigh ppl, Arabs, Turkish, etc. There is no "pure race" nowadays anywhere... let's just stick to the fact that we're human beings and that would be more than enough! peace and love :)

  • @amelesperanza SHE IS AMAZIGH NOT ARAB , AND IF YOU WANNA BE ARAB IT'S YOUR DAMN FUCKING BUSNESS , BUT DONT PUT SOUAD WITH YOUR BOAT

Hate...hate...hate.....I am from North Africa and I know where she is from!!!!!!!!!!!! We were all Berbers...then Arabs came....etc.....so?? Easy educated yourself before insulting freely people.....Arabs went into Poitier in France in 732...What is the shame of being an Arab here???

  • @amzoun who talked about arabs? well I'm Algerian and I feel Arab too! please let's not argue about origins coz it has no sense! Plus, Algerians are a mixture of Amazigh ppl, Arabs, Turkish, etc. There is no "pure race" nowadays anywhere... let's just stick to the fact that we're human beings and that would be more than enough! peace and love :)

  • @amzoun who talked about arabs? However, now that you mention it, I'm Algerian and I feel Arab too! please let's not argue about origins coz it has no sense! Plus, Algerians are a mixture of Amazigh ppl, Arabs, Turkish, etc. There is no "pure race" nowadays anywhere... let's just stick to the fact that we're human beings and that would be more than enough! peace and love :)
