  • does it matter which u get exhaust or muffler?

  • @SuperBlueflag No, not really. I think it depends on which you can afford. everyone i know goes all the way by purchasing the complete exhaust system. it also has to do with the new-ness if that makes sense. replacing everything with new parts will last for along time. for example i've had the same system on my 98 expedition for the last 6 yrs, and it still looks like new.

  • @JRLightning alright i understand. the whole money thing is what id have trouble with so if theres no diff ill prob go with the muffler lol

  • Sounds awensome! This F150's side exhaust is so sexy

  • @Gabzaiat Thanks! Yeah i really liked the way the side exhaust sounded. it may not seem loud in this vid but you could hear this truck coming a block away, i loved that truck. Speed and sound, can't go wrong with that.

  • I have the cats delete and full cooks hedders and bassanis , sounds good just a bit loud , I like the flowmasters , but I am going with turbo mufflers for more back pressure , then pulley s ,programer / slicks

  • @Z7EXTREMEBABY I tried the cat delete on mine, for about a month. it sounded awesome. I hated the fact that most of the back pressure was lost, so i decided to reinstall them and put the Super 44 muffler on. supposedly it was touted as being more aggressive sounding then the original 40 series, they were about the same. I want to warn you about using programmers on lightnings just be careful on how many times you program and reprogram the ECU, mine got screwed up, but it got better.

  • do you have cats? if not did you have any issues with your o2 censor? since i put in the 50 my o2 censor keeps signaling. i still have the cats.

  • @xINTENCITYx At one time i did take the cats off, and it was ok for about a week after that it was too much for me to handle and everyone at work was complaining about how loud my truck was. When i had them off the check engine light would come on every once and a while but it had no affect on how the truck performed. it sounds like you might need new o2 sensors or new cats. other than those small issues no major problems with mine.

  • damn. i should have order the 44s. owell the 50 sounds good reguardless. im gonna post a video in a few mins of my truck. bad thing is the subs and amps are still not tuned and u cant hear the music. guessing i need video camera instead of the phone.

  • @xINTENCITYx The Super 44 was a nice sounding muffler but it wasnt my favorite, the first system i had on it was a true dual 3 inch flowmaster 10 series race mufflers, that was the best sound i had ever had from that truck. I think i had mentioned that i had stainless steel shorty headers on it, with a k&n CAI bolted on it too. I had a 50 series put on mine about 3 yrs ago, i lived with it for about a week then i decided to straight pipe it. I look forward to seeing your video!

  • face book me. search stan bible and add me. for some reason i can put links up

  • @xINTENCITYx Hey! I just sent you a friend request on facebook, I think it'll be under my real name James Quinn.

  • i have an 02 lightning and i just ordered the super 50 muffler and im gonna gut the cats.

  • @xINTENCITYx SWEET! I hope you'll make a video of it.

  • @JRLightning just ordered the smooth step sides also. i also have 2 13.5 jl audio w7 in the truck. i didn a cut through. heres a link to the site if you wanna check it out.

  • @xINTENCITYx Nice! i bet they hit hard too! I have a 12" Infinity reference sub 1262w, sitting in a ported competiton enclosure in the back of my expedition, i had a old sony xplode sub but it "exploded".

  • Great 60's sound man but I'm looking for a more European sound. Have a great stock 03 with a recent k&n but the exhaust note is very important. Please advise. Thanks. Truck is all stock and looking for advice for upgrades. Thanks!

  • Thanks! the truck was much better sounding in person. unfortunately i don't have it anymore. I would say if you want the european sound the closest thing would probably be going with magnaflow, I myself like flowmaster for this type of truck, but they sound awesome with anything you find. Since your truck is stock what you could do is install some nice long-tube headers, I had shorties on mine because it was too expensive at the time, the other thing is to get a superchips programmer, awesome!!!

  • Actually it was the 01 lightnings that first came out with 380hp.

  • Thanks! this muffler use to be on my 98 expedition, It was sitting around in a box and I thought well It might sound really good on this truck so I took a chance and I really like it, and whomever buys it will to. As far as I know the 2002-2004 Lightnings all have the same supercharged 5.4 LTR. V-8 motor it put out 380 hp stock, if I remember the 02 model was the first year for the 380 hp motor. And the 99 through 01 models were 360 hp. All have the same motor a supercharged 5.4 Ltr V-8.

  • Sounds good! Im actually looking for a lightning. More of a 03 or 04 though. Whats the difference? I know the horsepower is different but is the motor different?
