  • Looks great. I understand the purpose of scraping, but what is the second process, flaking, for? Many thanks.

  • Hello Dear Sir.

Can you tell me why it is necessary to scrap allready a good finished surface?

  • @princeigorash One of the main reasons for flaking these ways is to give the ways a longer life span; assuming the machine has a good lubrication system, oil seeping into the tiny crevices will allow better oil flow. You don't always have to do it and is just a preference for some.

  • @princeigorash See MuellerNick's videos. He does an excellent job showing why you scrape.

  • What tool are you using for this process?

  • @trailbusterbrute It's a Biax equipped with a Diamond-tipped half moon tool.
