@ChristianBlond Yeps, jeg anbefaler dog at købe en mere omfattende remote, f.eks. den PS3 remote jeg bruger eller en universal fjernbetjening. Apple Remote er skabt simpel, men til større applikationer er der simpelthen ikke nok knapper.

@geebones you need a small application called "NTFSforMacOSX" .... and for the Windows platform to read Mac harddrives - "MacDrive" ...

@tappeddarkman89 The problem with FAT32 is that it can only contain files that are smaller than 4 GB. HD movies will run up to anywhere from 4-20 GB. The problem with Mac OS Journaled format is that it's not writable from a Windows platform. So my solution is NTFSforMacOSX on Mac and MacDrive for Windows.

@geebones Dude all you need to start with is macfuse & growl install on mac & that will make the mac be able to read & write to a ntfs drive & then I rip all of my purchased dvd's to my ntfs external drive & then both pc & my macs can read them & even my linux boxes. If you can not find those files just send me a message here on youtube & I will upload to a site & send you the link. Good Luck!

@ghostaliaz Sorry for that mess up on this message what I meant to say is use MacFuse & NTFS-3G for your mac to see NTFS. But you must install MacFuse 1st & the NTFS-3G & restart your good to go & i know your looking to format your drive in fat32, but I saw that I said growl instead so I just wanted to fix my mistake. @geebones The reason why I format my external drives in ntfs because you can format in fat32 but they have a size limit & I rip my blu-ray's also so i can not have any size limit.plus using my eyetv 250 plus I record sometimes real big files & if you use a fat32 partition then it will split the file & I for one do not want a split file,I want the file exactly as I record it & fat32 does not work

@geebones Yes the 2GB limit should be fine for you. I just use MacFuse & NTFS-3G apps so my macs can read & write to any NTFS drive & it work's perfectly, but there is nothing wrong with using fat32.

Remote Buddy. with it, you can use a number of remotes including the simple Apple Remote, Harmony universal remote and what i use -- Sony PS3 remote -- to control your entire Mac. I use the PS3 one, because it's Bluetooth. I don't have a keyboard or a mouse connected to the Mini, just this remote.

WTF? I've got two media center Mac Minis connected to three HDTVs in my house. One of them is almost two years old now. I know full well the reasons for wanting to do this. But everyone who's asked me about my system is interested for two reasons. Bloated cable/sat bills and lousy cable/sat content. IMO, this music certainly comes from the same never-ending fountain of garbage that chooses and produces what's on television presently. And to the dissatisfaction of a growing number of people.

Hey .. Jo altså den er konstant koblet til mit tv. Og den er faktisk aldrig slukket. Så når jeg tænder tvet er den altid klar. Har prøvet mange forskellige mediecentre, også HTPC før jeg skiftede til Mac. Dette trumfer ALT. Jeg er nu nået dertil at jeg overvejer at bruge det samme skin (Aeon) som dig. Men ser problemer i det. Da jeg ser en af fordele ved Plex at man kan afspille YouTube og Apple Movie Trailers via Plex's App Store. Men hvis jeg bruger det nye skin vil det så ikke gøre det umuligt for mig at gå ind til mine applications (App Store), og derved forhindre mig i at bruge denne feature?

Jeg har ikke testet de to scripts i Aeon, fordi jeg slet ikke bruger dem. Men jeg har været inde at "kigge" (åbne) scriptsne uden at forsøge mig at streame videoindholdet, og det så ud til at fungere. Prøv dog bare :), du kan altid skifte tilbage til default.

You do need a TV tuner. You can get one that connects via USB and fits your tv-output in your typical electronics store for a small sum.

hey man, how do you switch back from Plex to EyeTV in Remote Buddy without having to hide or quit Plex first? It uses video overlay and is on top of EyeTV no matter if EyeTV is the active app or not.

I just close the Plex app and then open EyeTV. I have mapped a button on the Sony remote (via Remote Buddy) to cmd + Q that quits Plex, or you could just navigate to "Power" in the main menu of Plex.

Remote Buddy: for the remote control interaction with ALL programs and the OS in general

EyeTV: for television

Plex: media center for music, pictures and movies (tv shows)

i read on a forum that you had a problem getting it to play in HD. I have the same problem except that even after a few days it still does not appear in HD. On my hard drive the video is 1280x720p.

When you were uploading your file did it take ages(about 2-3hrs) to finish uploading and when the progress bar reached the end, did a message appear saying it had finished uploading? (mine didnt) Thanks

i did have problems uploading it at first. but only because i didn't realize it took a few minutes to generate the HD-link. so everytime i uploaded it, i'd see there wasn't an HD-option and delete immediately. it was a coincidence that i waited a few minutes the last time and voila, HD-option there.

sounds like it just didn't upload right - does your file exceed 1 GB (it musn't). 2-3 hours sounds like a lot, but it depends on your internet speed.

That is the correct skin. All you need to do is to unzip the downloaded file into this directory on the computer:

"Computer Name" / Users / "Username" / Library / Application Support / Plex / skin

What's the remote control software you have on there?

It's called Remote Buddy and costs around 20 dollars .... also, I'm using the Sony Blu-Ray Disc Remote (Bluetooth) aka the PS3 remote. 30-50 dollars. Works perfectly with the Remote Buddy software.

software called Elgato EyeTV. costs about 50 bucks. you will also need a USB tv-tuner. those can be pretty cheap depending on the kind of tv-signal you have.
