ok, you try driving a 500+ hp drag car with a manual transmission. Why do you think all top fuel drags, funny cars, and 99% of home-made drag cars (PINKS etc.) all have automatics? Much easier to drive, stronger, more reliable, faster, much more consistent. I prefer a 4500 stall w/ trans brake launch to a 5000 rpm clutch drop any day. The drivetrains can only take so many clutch-drop shocks with slicks before they snap.
