  • @gilllie666 If our thinking about switching over you should do it you’ll find that the work ethic you gained from being in a trade will excel you to the top of your class plus flying around in helicopters, looking at rocks, and getting paid to go camping is badass career. Hope that helps

  • @GeoMan85 thanks for the advice mate, i'd like to visit Canada one day, Australia's so far away though, but it'd be worth to meet nice people like yourself

  • i'm a young electrician who is bored with the job because magnetism doesn't thrill me, would my background put me in a good position to changing my career to geology?

  • @gilllie666 I became a certified red seal carpenter in 2007 and in 2009 I decided to go back to school for somewhat of the same reasons you are probably think about right now. In 2010 I finished my upgrading and I’m now in my second year in geology and loving it. I’m so glad I decided to switch it really is an amazing career and since I already had a trade I've found that it is really easy to get a job because I have those skills that not a lot of university students have. 1 of 2
