  • Thank you sooo much! I bought a vanity strip and got it home and thought "what do I do with it now?". I almost gave up! So glad you posted this!! Off to Home Depot!!

  • How did you mount it ?

  • @GodIsNotMocked

    with pin tacks...

  • Thanks for the video! I had no idea it was so easy and inexpensive

I also found out you can buy a switch for a couple of bucks and add it to any cord -- another easy and cheap solution. YouTube won't let me post the link here, but you can google "How to install an in-line cord switch" and it comes right up.

  • @bbprincess2147 no problem girl! hit that home depot boo boo.. lol

  • Hey Hun, what was the cord called that you bought? I have vanity lights that I bought 9 years ago but never got an electrician in to fit them so this sounds great. We don't have Home Depot here in Australia so I just went to Bunnings (similar I think) and I couldn't find anything matching the description :(

  • @showponyklb its an electric plug, thats what home depot called it. go to a hardware store or any place that puts in lighting for your house and see if they have them. i'm sure they are somewhere over there, dont give up girl, lol. i hope this is helpful.

  • Loveee it! You are amazingggg

  • if you don't mind me asking, how much did all of this cost. I really need to do this in my bedroom and let's just say I'm on high school kids budget-_-"

  • @vanillapudding94 VERY CHEAP. I didnt pay more than 25 bucks girl! Go get it!

  • @CheapCosmoholic damn girl! it looks better than mine! lol. *hi five* great job!

  • Thank you SO much. I just moved to a smaller place and lighting is at a premium. I was at Home Depot and Lowes this morning looking for a "plug in vanity light". They weren't very helpful about how I would go about rewiring one. One quick search and you fixed me right up. WTG.

    Thanks, Grandma Gayle in TN

  • This is awesome! a million thanks to you for this video. Now i am heading homedepot to get me these.

  • I went to Lowes and found one, but it had an extra exposed wire. Did yours have a loose third wire? If so, what did you do about it?

  • @demeatrist mine only had 2 wires, but you can either tuck that extra wire into the back and see if the lights will still work, if not, twist it with another wire and cap both of them together.

  • EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED THANKS

  • @ASUSENAGAVINO28 :0) *hi five*

  • Great!! U dont know how much u helped me with this tutorial!!!

  • @luzzy819 *hi five*

  • VERY helpful. Thank you!

  • thanks so much!

  • @fhoua1 no problem girl... :0)

  • HI girls! Thanks for the idea too, The silver swirls are the threads:0). I took it a step further and cut my cord to four feet and installed my own switch closer to the end, and hid the wire behind PVC conduit. I'm lucky to have a Trapeeze mirror I recently bought from Targe't-LOL! and my vanity light complimented it well. My husband wasn't too keen on the idea but, for a small bathroom remodel that didn't have a hard wired vanity light in the plans it works out great! Thanks!

  • @ADPZMOM love it! now thats what im talking about!

  • OMG...I love this idea...You have provided the info Ive been searching for...Whoo...hoo...cant wait to go shopping tomorrow...

  • thank you sooo much for this. I've been trying to find a light strip for my room that didn't require wiring it to the wall and finally I found this.

  • @fkngabi :0) !

  • @JessyJewl911 LOL @ me not knowing the name. I feel your pain though. Just like you, I was searching for this forever. I was surprised that no one had this! I went to Home Depot and Lowes and the rest and no one knew what the hell I was talking about. I ended up buying these on good faith and was shocked that I made it work, lol. I am happy to have shared this with you, I knew I could not have been the only woman in the world who needed one or was puzzled that they dont come plugged in. Thanks!

  • great video! now if i could only mount it to the wall like you did towards the end of your video lol!

  • @MyFitBeauty thank you!! Girl thats easy, i used a push pins. I tried to match the holes up on the wall to the ones on the back of the bar. took me a few tries but i finally matched it... so yea, just some cheap good ol push pins... the ones that you use on like a info board...

  • Wow! This is exactly what I was looking for. • @LoriliLee everything ran me about 23 bucks! what a deal huh?!. hmmm... @ your question. I may be able to tell you how to do it... ill do a video response and explain as best i can. so stay tuned...

  • Thank you I have been looking for this!!!!

  • @TheTooBlessed no problem babes! :0) Glad I could help.

  • hun did the vanity bar come with the bulbs? if not what kind of bulds do you need?

  • @MaKeUpByMaRiSoL no ma'am, the bulbs do not come with the vanity bar. you can use any normal light bulbs you like. but make sure you get a good watt bulb (60 - 100 watt). the higher the watt, the better the light. you may be slightly blind and start to see spots if you stare directly into them though... lol.

  • thank you so much for taking the time to do this video!

you showed my husband how to get my vanity set up PERFECTLY!

    Thanks again!

    Kocus
