  • Задроты какие-то...

  • Linux...because Penguins kick ass. <Best Linux commercial.

  • suuuuucks the video not linux

  • Aburrido...

  • welcome to a world of trying a few distros and then after install find your pc's wirless card is not supported, so you spend a month looking for drivers, kernel patches but no it just dont work it cant even fully support all hardware out of box or at least provide drivers.. Fuck off im going back to win 7 that was free too also i have adobe photoshop, dreamweaver, sony vegas pro, adobe flash, adobe lightroom, ms office 2010 pro... it can all be free if you want it to be, linux is a waste of space

  • @silageman the future is open. More and more manufactures offer linux drivers. Often these drivers come into the kernel itself, so you dont even have to install them manually.

  • @silageman Wine anyone?

  • apt get-open isn't a command and Linux executables aren't exe

  • sudo apt get-open filesystem/user/lib/apps/internet.exe all... wait, what?

    APT GET-OPEN?

    FILESYSTEM/USER/LIB?

    INTERNET.EXE ALL?

    That's ain't even funny. That's retarded.

They should've screencap TRON movie, there was a real linux console.

  • there are only 25 likes.... i bumped the wrong button...

true though Debian does seem slow..

  • This is just tasteless.

  • shit!!!!!!

  • internet.exe?

  • Awful 'ad'

Using apt-get for an exe file? Really? And to make things even worse, expecting it to magically open in a linux environment and somehow 'blow up' the OS as your video shows.

It is a pity there is no facepalm emoticon on here, as it deserves a triple helping.

  • Shit what nerds.

  • ubuntu.org and see how easy is the new Linux Ubuntu

  • open source 4 life

  • Speaking as a Linux sysadmin, everything about this video makes me want to punch my own dick off.

  • the creators of this video are fags

  • @Aliyns lern2 wine.

  • This video is totally crap!

  • Yeah... this video is still fail, though. APT on an RPM-based distribution liek OpenSUSE. Did ANYONE who made this video even USE Linux ever?

Also those "ubuntu" features were GNOME features.

  • Oi.

Okay, PE (exe files) aren't natively supported in Linux, but WINE sort of cheats its way around that by interpreting the PE format and providing an open source Windows API to work with.

exe is pretty much just used in Windows because it's used to denote PE executables. So far I haven't seen any operating system that used "exe" to indicate executable binary.

Most the rest of the world actually uses ELF (The format, not the extension.), which is much better than what Windows uses by far.

  • The makers of this video are clueless.

  • faggots

  • NOOOOBS

  • Fail at command.

    At first, it's "apt-get", not "apt get-open".

Secondly, "apt-get" is for Debian-based systems, not SuSE-based.

At third, you can't open a file with "apt-get open", because that's simply invalid.

Forth, there are no apps in lib, "usr" is spelled wrong, and "filesystem" is not the root.

    Fifth, "all" is no variable.

Sixth, the *'s are no commands.

Finally, you can't open .exe files on Linux.

  • My opinion on all the different OS's: They all suck but each in a different way.

  • windows users ......

  • I watched this video using a 8 year old HP laptop with 512 MB ram and 1.6 GHz CPU running Xubuntu with KDE desktop environment. I got the computer for free cuz it was too old for anyone else. I us linux because XP is too slow and Mac is overpriced. I think I can safely say, Linux, FTW!

  • @MrC0MPUT3R Xubuntu uses xface not KDE :P

  • @amaranthflavius I was the KDE desktop environment installed on top of xfce

  • @MrC0MPUT3R ooh.. sorry my bad:) you probably used KDE 3.5 for better performance

  • @amaranthflavius Indeed, however, I found that KDE just isn't for me. I converted everything to gnome on my laptop and purged the other environments. Funny thing is the Kubuntu splash still shows up. Not really a concern for me though :P

  • @MrC0MPUT3R thats kinda odd, in kde you have an option for selecting you splash screen. maybe you still have kdm (kde login manager?) in place of gdm (gnome login manager) it doesn't matter witch one you use tough :)

  • sigh* noob humor XD priceless

  • how coudl you open a .exe without Wine? O.O

  • lol they don't know anything about linux, what a bunch of jerks :D

  • No offense to the makers of the video, but here is my list of corrections:

Um.. Ubuntu is based on Debian. You can't diss Debian without dissing Ubuntu.

OpenSUSE is not stupid... not at all. No, openSUSE cannot open EXEs. In addition, it runs KDE unlike Ubuntu and Debian whom use GNOME. If you'd like a terminal, hit Ctrl-Alt-F1. Wanna get back to X11? Just do Ctrl-Alt-F7. OpenSUSE is not 100% terminal like you portray it to be.

Linux doesn't open EXEs and crash. You're thinking of Windows. :D

  • @TheRealUncleNinja It's just a joke, c'mon it's funny :p

  • @TheRealUncleNinja Just to add to your list, OpenSUSE doesn't use apt-get. It uses zypper (which in my honest opinion is a lot simpler and more intuitive).

  • I bet Micro$oft is pretty angry now. he he he :D

  • Major wtf is major.

  • What relates an OSX kernel and Linux?

  • @IkarusKommt

    OSX is based on Unix

  • @IkarusKommt darwin is unix based just like linux and windows uses the nt kernel but I prefer unix

  • Too bad they don't mention that Mac OS is also running a Unix-like OS kernel under the hood. Hypocrisy?

  • @number098 It's not about OS as much as it is about being open source and free to everyone.

  • MAHAHAHAH your ass backwards...the best part of Linux is that it works,...maybe you should read on how horrible Microsoft is behind because they are battling the Open Source community cause Open source is what is developing Cloud computing and virtualization. With the use of Linux has brought back MY love for PCs and has helped youth in the Metro area become fearless of Microsoft and helped generate more interest in learning about the Computers and software they use each day !

  • Damn... wtf is this?

  • opening a .exe in Linux?

Creators of this are a little clueless.

  • @Aliyns Linux runs most applications with wine

  • @yoyoyojjfurry I'm using Linux right now and can tell you I'm not using Wine to open any windows applications at all because I don't have the need, I have all the free software I need for everything natively working with Linux.

  • @yoyoyojjfurry most of windows app

  • @Aliyns Ya everyone knows you can open .exe files in JULinux.

  • @Aliyns yes you cant open it that way but there is wine

  • @Aliyns Use WINE.

  • @Aliyns You can open .exe at linux.

  • @liuksik Why would you need to?

  • @Aliyns exe short for executable. Nyah-nyah!

  • @MDxm3000 No, that would be ".bin". ".exe" is a windows executable.

  • @Aliyns It's called WINE...

  • @Aliyns .exe files can be easily opened in any linux distro

    you are a little clueless

  • @prophetofreedom in a linux machine you wont open a exe file. you may RUN it ... opening it doesn't make any sense... they are clueless, becuz you don't use a package manager to run a windows program.. you use wine... but wine is for winers.

  • @Aliyns more like fucking retarded

  • @Aliyns GNOME can find wine for you automaticly, and install it automaticly for you, to open the exe file. Less than 5 minutes. Can Windows open ELF binary linux files? N00B

  • Is your computer running too fast? Lol!

  • Didn't get what it's all about. Is this Linux commercial or its parody?

  • I love this one!

    Good job cast and crew

  • HILARIOUS

  • haha hilarious

  • sad, but true
