  • is it a "body kit" or the front and rear bumpers from a c5? just curious looks good btw.

  • @1SicMind it is a body kit

  • @86c5corvette cool thanks. love C4 vettes

  • hey did you change your exhaust and if you did what did you change it too?

  • @dreammace yea i changed it i had it custom made to come out of the center like on the c5 vettes and i used flowmaster mufflers

  • And its only $1000 well worth for the full body kit

  • You can find this at andys auto sport .com

  • Great video

  • Can you told me were did you buy the body kit?

  • It turned out nice. I always wondered why there are not more kit cars based on C4. They are pretty cheap now, handle good, and the frame can be separated from the body. Seems like a street rod body kit would be nice.

  • lol @ the guy asking if it was a GS. id personally just get a C5, but the bodykit is decent, to the untrained eye it would be a c5

  • lol id just buy the newer style theese kits arent cheep and you can tell that its built on an older body c4

  • Hey man, was up, wer could i get dat kit and for how mcuh.

  • Why would you ruin the looks of a C4?

  • @Geardo308 C4's are ugly thats why

  • @86c5corvette C4's are the best of the Vettes, except for a 63 Stingray

  • @86c5corvette isn`t that a Grand Sport corvette that yoy put the body kit on?

  • @evilgamers1 no thats was not a grand sport

  • @86c5corvette sure looked like one

  • where can i get these bodykits

  • @titleistgolfer27 i got mine off of ebay

  • thats really sick

  • TPI!!!!!!

  • this is exactly why you MUST do a thorough one over before buying any vette camaro trans am 5.0 etc. motherfuckers been hackin em up since day one. TRUST

  • is it basically an upgrade

  • thats really cool, i like it

  • Great work, I like it - but does it actually make any sense?

  • @manoman0 well a C5 is about $20,00 or more and i gave $2500 for this one and done all that work to it put alot of money in it but not near $20,000 so i guess it makes sense

  • Great for when you want to make your 15 year old vette look like a 14 year old vette.

  • @contraption22 yea i guess but the 1986 vette is 25 years old so make a 25 year old vette look like a 11 year old vette

  • I suppose. But the reailty is it went from a C4 to a C5 that doesn't look quite right. Personally I like the look of the C4 alot better than the C5. The money and effort would have been better spent updating the drivetrain of the C4 rather than the appearance.

  • very nice.. I love the Corvette for the body kits, primarily

  • ugly

  • pretty sweet, you can still see the old c4 clam shell hood but also see the c5 in it

  • that's cool, i have a 98 firebird. v6 but nice car

  • hey im currently working on doing the same thing! but i was wondering how u did the mirrors? also how do the front directional lights go in?

  • very nice job man. here in Aruba i know a guy who did the same thing, but yours much nicer

  • @zenaku85 thanks man but i have sold it like 3 years ago

  • @86c5corvette damm. that's a shame. did you bought a new corvette or something?

  • @zenaku85 i bought a 1999 trans am with a LS1

  • Hey the C5s are pretty cheap these days, how much did the whole thing cost ya? It does look pretty sweet though, does the car weight more or less then before. Actually I could see wanting to do the swap the c4 of this year doesn't have traction control, and less computer controlled crap then the C5.

  • @stevielovefish well i done this about 6 years ago and the C5's wasnt as cheap back then i had about $10,000 in the whole car but i started out with a ragged out engine blow car so i spent alot on it sold it and lost big time but bought a 99 trans am LS1

  • @86c5corvette my aunts got a 99 trans am with ls1. it was the car that was on display so it has a big speaker in the back and no speed or power limiter chips. the insurance is the same as a 2005 corvette

  • STUPID IDIOT BODY KIT lil poor american..

  • @Hamodyxxx0 winner of the retard award its aaronbassist146!!!! How do you feel aaron? "I yam sofa king wee tod edd!" We couldn't agree more! What are you going to do with your years supply of ritalin? "I gonna go learn 2 internet and cars!" Well good luck little buddy!

  • that looks good, i gotta 84 that is gettin ready to be rebuilt for the second time..any good ideas? im wanting some monster hp to the ground.

  • @BLKDEVIL2

    Mid-engine. =)

  • I like it. But I hope u upped the engine with mods to keep with its looks.

  • I dunno if i like it or not.... but its still a vette :)

  • Why? C5 are cheap now...

  • Buy a C4 if you enjoy the C4. Buy a C5 if you prefer the C5. Don't turn one into the other. I love the lines of my '94, I'd never put a body kit on her

  • @iplaybassandgh2

I guess that is why I am excited to have a C4 and soon a C5. I prefer these 2 over a C6, just wish the C4 and C5 had some of the engines that are offered now for the C6. But mostly in the 80's (from the mid 70's) it was the Feds that screwed with the ability of GM to make engines the way a Corvette should have. I mean who ever heard of a Corvette with less than 1 horse per cubic inch? My opinion, no less than 1 horse per inch is the only way to go.

  • was that beginning of that motley crew song taken straight from the power rangers turbo movie???

  • @KevinFL thanks was a lot of work but i already sold it a LS2 would have been great but would cost to much so i bought a 1999 trans am go check out my other vid for it

  • was it cheaper to get a body kit than the actual thing?

  • @jmpfixer That depends on your "hobbyist" or "passion" outlook. C4's has the windtunnel numbers to show that they were the most areodynamic of all generation Corvettes. But the C5 "looked" more aerodynamic so many put on the C5 body kits. The L98 was/is not the most powerful motor but either upgrading it or replacing with an LS engine is a better swap. Mainly, it is up to the owner (and pocket books) as to what is done to their own Corvette. My '87 Vette is on here if you check it out.

  • @Lonewolf36 i like the looks of a 5 but c4 are way cheaper especialy when you buy one with a bad motor and needs painted like i bought paid like $2500 for it and fixed to whats in the vid yea the early c4s motors are weak but i sold it already and have a LS1 trans am now

  • Comment removed

  • Nice car but y not leave it a C4 and the 86's were not cross fire they were tuned port injection then but the earlier 80's were cross. But nice car I own an 86 also!

  • for the money of the donor car and the kit why woulded you buy the real thing the engine would be much better than the crossfire

  • You can buy 1986 Corvettes for cheap. A C5 costs $10,000 minimum. But I agree the LS1 would be a huge improvement over the L98.

  • @5959512 thats not the crossfire its the tune port

  • @Buddysautomart i think that crossfire is accually better than tuned port injection

  • love this song! had it cranking in my viper last month tearing up a parking lot...more of a rush than any drug!

  • Ok Hubby and I are going to get this kit and have it put on in the spring when we repaint the car, we seen them on ebay, but I was wondering about the exhaust , will we need to replace the whole exhaust? On the c4's they come out on the sides but on the c5 they are coming out of the middle, I really want to get the borla exhaust now but will wait till spring if the exhaust set up is different.

  • yea you wont have to replace the whole exhaust just the tailpipes and mufflers i had mine done at a muffler shop and had flowmasters installed but i had to get rid off the spare tire for it to fit

  • hey i ran into a prblem on the rear bumper/. when you installed yours, did u have to trim about a 1/4 of inch on the sides of the corvette fender so the sides of the c5 bumper would fit?

  • its been about 4 years since i built mine i have sold it a few years ago but i dont recall trimming much on the back fenders but the kits dont fit just perfect so you do have to do alot of fileing here and there and trimming to get it to fit well

  • do u member which expoxy you used? the only thing that worries me is that huge gap from when u remove that rubber molding from the door..a buddy told me i could probably blend the cap to door with bondo

  • it was a 2 part epoxy from autozone or any part store looks like a big needle and yea you blend the cap to the doors but use fiberglass and then smooth it out with bondo your body shop should do it for you when you have it painted

  • hey im in dire need of your help..btw kudos on ur kit ..fucking badd asss!!! any who i have the same kit.. it came with no instructions.. I figured out the bumpers and side vents.. im lost on the door cap installation.. what did you do.. i heard you people are gluing them..but with what? thats kinda scary any who any info would def help or if you email the instructions that would be even more awesome

  • yea you glue them on with a 2 part epoxy and then you mold it into your door with fiberglass

  • cool i had a 89 GTA and now i have a 99 T/A also have a 81 Z28 im restoring

  • Nice! I started out with a 1988 GTA back in highschool...loved it with the L98 motor...had flowmaster and headers...it was a beast and still a legend to this day with all my buddies...:)

  • @brettvett1 I had a 89 GTA it was pretty fast have a 99 trans am ws6 now sold the vette

  • @86c5corvette I also had an '89 GTA and loved it. As well as my '82 Trans Am and 1984 Trans Am and a '70 Trans Am and '74 Trans Am. In 1970 I got my first Corvette then swapped to a '73 Corvette. Loved the '73 but wished I kept the '70 454 model instead. By the way, I like the C5body kit you put on your 1986 Corvette. Very nicely done and looks good. Now to get the motor to rev like it looks, hot and fast.

  • its a tunedport i did beef it up some with some bolt ons new injectors and roller rokers and so on but i have sold the car abot 2 years ago and have bought a 99 LS1 trans am check my other vid for it

  • no its the C4 hatch just changed the back bumber cover is all

  • are you from new york? that looks a lol like the vette I sold to a guy from NY a few year back

  • nope from KY.

  • why not just buy the 2000 corvette?

  • i gave $2300 for this vette a 2000 vette cost about $23,000 do the math

  • yeah but that's a $23,000 well spent. not like it wouldn't be worth it.

  • maybe if you have it to spend it im just a poor boy

  • I just finally bought my first vette. It only took me forever. So it's a 1985 red on red. Its got girl written all over it. That's changing fast! I love this conversion kit. I have already called the place in SC. and will order it soon. i am new to all of this so if you can help me out on anything please tell me.

  • dude all i can say is take your time those fiberglass kits is a pain dont get scared when you have to sand and file aon the kit and on your car to get it to fit right

  • this is probably a stupid idea but do you think with some z06 body parts could i make a c6 base look like a z06 from a exterior view?

  • since it would probably be easier with c6 parts on another c6... or some ZR1 body parts? just wanna if it would be easy and done myself without professional body kit?

  • I have seen those around here locally and thought about doing myself but I will stick to my camaro with the RS ground effects for now.

Those things are pretty hot. I remembered when they first hit the market, they where the orginal best bang for the buck deal in kitcar mag. lol.

  • This is very nice, I want to do something like this with my 89 corvette I was just going to buy the regular body kit for that year and change the trunk on it to look like a convertible but I really like that kit you used. Also what color is that paint from a few of your pics it looks like a orange color then it look red?

  • the color is sunburst orange metallic its a nice kit but it is a fiberglass kit and they are very hard to get right as you can tell by the front bumper on mine spent several hours just to get it that close and i started out with a very rough vette to begin with

  • i have 1984 corvette for sale why doesnt any one want to buy it its super cheap check it out on craigslist in phoenix type in chevrolet corvette 3500 and it will pop up

  • because anyone that knows corvettes know to stay away from 84s really 84-89

  • nice vette man..fuck all this guys talkn shit..dat vette still has the heart of a c4..i like dat..i got me a c5 vette

  • thanks man couldn't afford a c5 bought this c4 it was ragged out and engine blown and fixed it up

  • Nice C4 man , Check out my 97 C5 on my page ...

P.S. do u full anybody with that C5 conversion cuz it sure had me fooled ... Loved the music also whats the name of that song ?

  • yea it fools some ppl that dont know much about vettes the song is kickstart my heart by motley crue

  • vette rocks

  • stupid, probably was crazy expensive, and could have just bought a c5 for close to the same price of the kit + labor, since they have come down in price so drastically

  • haha thats soo cool

  • Wow that looks great. The 84-89 corvettes are way ugly and this makes it look hot. How much did it cost?

  • the kit was $1700 and it included all the lights

  • you gonna give it a 2000 corvette engine? or will that be to expensive for you?

  • yea be to expensive but i have sold the car already it would of been nice to have put a LS1 in it

  • no corvettes are ugly only if you modiffy it with flames and put a big ass spoiler on it then it will look ugly

  • that was a nice transformation, u can barely tell the difference

  • LOL, make your 23-year-old car look like a 5-year-old car

  • Great job. I have C4 & C5 in garage. The scale of C4 is great size & hope the C7 will down size to C4.

  • I think it would have been more economical to buy a real 1997 C5. It would have made more sense to make this C4 look like a 1991-96 C4. Kudos for persistence I suppose.

  • nice work

  • hahahHAHAHAHAH nice work man, you spent a lot of time and money turning an ugly shitty car into an.......ugly shitty car!!

  • thats not nice dude just because your jelous doesnt mean you have to act like a douche. the car looks sweeet

  • jealous of what? he could have bought a c5 for the amount of work that went into that, and then he wouldnt be stuck with an ugly fucked up corvette. you are clearly a fucking retard for thinking that car looks sweet.read the other posts you better start telling them they are jealous too.

  • LOL man...Comedy oozes in your blood.

  • That is awful. You take a Corvette, and make it into a Corvette kit car.

Looks just as phony as those Fiero to Ferrari or Lambo kits, when the car looked just fine before you went and butchered it.

  • My '64 convertible w/ both tops or my '95 convertible with rag top plus all the whistles and bells? Only 1...of course you knew! The '64!! Ain't nothin like the 1st time. Lordy, that so true.."CTA" on 8-track was orgasmic!!!

  • where did u get this conversion kit ?

  • i got it on ebay

  • how about the inside?

  • well i sold the car before i got to do anything to the inside

  • The front of the car still looks too much like a C4 ZR-1

  • Words cannot explain the comical brain drain that would prerequisite the belief that it could be a good idea to make a corvette into a kit car of a corvette. Even if you think the 2000 looks better than the 1985 (it doesn't), think of all the time and effort resulting in a car that looks dated by the time the 2005 debuts and when people (like myself) notice that it is a kit and crash into a tree laughing, you can shake your head and say "damn that 1987 vette could've been the new kit." Sad.

  • the front air damn and a motorsports kit, blk on blk on bliggety blk. I hope I find a blue one with no engine.

  • I just want to front air dam, I always thought the rears on that particular year were the best. My entire life I have always wanted to take a poor abused 84 Vette and restore it from the block up. I want to build 350's because they are cheap and I can twin turbochage it. For the real car guys out there, what block would you recommend for at least a g of hp?

  • was it really worth it?

  • yea the kit was but the vette i started with was ragged out need alot of work needed motor and everything so i ended up with to much in that vette

  • dont feel bad, real car guys always invest to much

  • thats actually looks good!!

  • nice job

  • holy crap.

    you are the man lol.

    talk about saving money

  • i dont know about saving much money but i did start out with a ragged out vette maybe if you had a better vette to start off you could save alot of money

  • i got my kit off of ebay go look on there

  • Really nice man! I have a 1990 C4 L98 Convertible. I'd like to know where I can order a Kit like that. I scraped my front bumper when a jerk backed up into me in a parking lot, so instead of just getting the bumper, I wanna do like you did. Checkout my video of when I got my car. Thanks for your help. Ciao -Angelo

  • thats nice. how much$ did that set u back

  • the entire kit with lights and all was $1700 you can just buy thekit and buy the light at a vette swap meet and save alot of money

  • its not because he canot afford a C5 the guy love his 1986 C4 thats all.

old leady became young and sexy girl

  • COULDNT AFFORD A C5

  • my neighbor has like 5 corvettes, and he works on every bit from the chassis up, including th paint and engine

  • Whoa! Guys my hat is off to whoever did the work on that car. Corvettes are infamously difficult to do body work on and none of that job looks minor or easy.

Imagine making a C5 look like a C4. Reminds me of the time I turned a Lamborghini Countach into an '88 Fiero.

  • As you roll over a speed bump a little too fast and your car explodes into a transformer.

  • its about $1500 for the body kit not counting paint i done all the work myself except for the paint i started out with a ragged out vette it needed a new motor i had about $10,000 in the car after i was done but still needed new interior but sold it already and bought a 1999 trans am as seen in my other video

  • wao nice super job

  • thanks it was alot of work

  • Nice Job!!! I have a couple of c-4 vettes and one c-5 and one c-6 vette. I was wondering what that job cost to do to your c-4 and was it cheaper to just go and buy a c-5 or was there some sentimental attachment to your c-4 like I have to my 94 Vette?

  • Very nice..

  • It would be cool if it was a smog-free stingray with a c5 body kit. seems kind of pointless for a C4 though unless you got a helluva deal on the kit.

  • nice car. Alot of work. I'm in the process of putting a kit on an 86 also

  • yea its alot of work i have sold mine since i posted the video bought me a 99 LS1 trans am check out the video of it. runs alot better than the vette in the works of making a new video of the trans am

  • nice work, but this is the dumbest thing ive ever seen whats the point of having a classic corvette? you shoulda jsut bought your self a 2000 corvette instead of going completely out of your way to make an 86 look like one

  • The idea of a 1986 Corvette being considered "classic" is completely comical. It's just another outdated Vette, nothing classic about it. This person did a great job updating it...

  • are you using c4 doors or the c5 doors?

  • you use the c4 doors you get a overlay for your doors it glues to your door

  • damn whered you get the body kit?

  • found it on ebay

  • excelent beautiful car flawless the only thing that would set it off would be the american classic 5 spoke chrome corvette rims!!!! (i have them on mine:))

  • That is awful. Why would you spend any amount of currency on that? There is no 'performance' behind that. Looks good, but its like building a nice house with no walls on the inside.

  • well because im not made of money to buy a c5 and c6's wasnt even out when i built the car so i made mine look like a c5 Duh!

  • I'm not made of money either, but transforming that car into what it is now, cost something, yeah? Not everyone can get a corvette, Economics 101, but pay some bills off or fix your existing car...Whatever makes you happy I guess.

  • i sold the vette last summer anyways and bought a 99 trans am check my other video for it

  • dude the c4 corvette change corvette forever if you think theres no performance value in it your a tool my corvette (1985) has over 700 horse on the stock 350 block so learn your shit before you say something stupid

  • LOL, 700 horse on the stock 350 block? What does that mean? Is it stock? My brother just bought a 99 corvette with long tube borla and 100 wet shot, for 18K. That's value. How much you spend on that 700 HP vette? Wow. Charlatan.

  • i kept the blackand just built up from it shes a beast

  • i kept the block and jsut built it up it cost more then i would like to share lol but she runs like a chanp

  • id love to know where u got the kit at.

  • found it on ebay go check it out

  • i stumbled on one on a site today, looks like ill be saving up for awhile :)

  • nice ride man i meen my dads i awsome looking but its amazing how u got ur from being wreck to looking like a queen
