Hello Grzegorz - I love, love, love this vid - the music and and the art work - super fun! The lyrics are especially clever and funny! Have a great day! Chicago is still glowing in super glorious Fall Splendor which is passing fast since today is extremely cold - but sunny - thank God!
@tango3721 Thank you Lana. I love that orchestra a lot! There used to be in YT - or perhaps in DM? I don't remember now : quite a long original movie with that guy and his band giving a concert on a deck of a steamer. A very impressive documentary with a lot of excellent music given by that fantastic band.
@abendstunde49 Thank you! I think this band was one of top 10 in 1920s. You feel in their play the vibrant youth of that young and damn rich bandleader, for whom the music was just a sheer pleasure, and not the profession or source of income
@barbcard Isnt that poster just great!? It was so huge that I had to cut it in two halfs what made it even better readable - all these warnings what a Hot Dance can make with your limbs and organs! I think, mostly the charleston was considered a danger to your health in those days. From my childhood I remember similar press articles referring to a twist-craze in the early 1960s. There were doctors' warnings published about distortions and possible breaks of your knee joints.
Well, they just flew out of the closet and are going CRAZY! :-) I will let them have their fun, they LOVE to dance to the GREATEST TUNES and this is a FABLULICIOUS ONE! Dziekuje. Genia :-) ~~~ Dziekuje, Dziekuje.. PANTOFLE :-) :-)
@genia106 Genia! How possible you know such word as PANTOFLE? It's hardly ever used by younger Poles any more! But I love it, my mother would not ever call her summer or evening shoes "buty" but she would call them "pantofle". Elder generation used it for the lighter kind of the ladies' shoes, now they refer rather (if ever!) to domestic slippers. Thank you!
@dzheger They WERE self-assured, indeed. Now, when I am all time so deep into Lempicka's life and her epoque, I can see what kind of monsters these flappers were! They simply could go on without us men,at all! In many respects, though
@sammipink1 Indeed, that rhythm is ideal for the little girl's tap dance: it's not at all as "crazy" as the title promises :-) But the composition is rich and vibrant, and it's an excellent arrangement, indeed. Thank you!
@JCJasion Yes, these Victors are really wonderful sometimes. They give excellent resonance for basses and not too much hiss in upper scale. When they are not wornout it's really easy to work with most of them - although, nothing beats Columbias from late 1920s
you mean, I'M GONNA STAY THIS COLOR!?

Fantastic! One of my faves---can play this over ^ over. Real upbeat sound of the 20s, by the composer.

A song epitomizing the 20's and this version by the composer himself is outstanding thank you! Sound is impeccable too.

A real kick, especially with all those kickers--and the subtle bit about "prolapsed" organs.
