actually stock 5.0s are made weak thats why i swapped 4 a 351 stroked to 427 and a little boost(lol "little"), my friend with a 5.0 actually has a gurdle wrapped around his engine to keep it form falling apart
HERE'S THREE THENTHS FOR FREE: LEARN TO POWERSHIFT. You're lifting, and it's killing your times; I guarantee it. Yes, with a stiff suspension, it's going to jump a bit sideways on the 1-2 and 2-3, but you'll learn to drive through it while keeping the revs up in the fat part of the powerband. Trust me... been there, done that, and SMOKED those who grannyshift!!!!
Very true, josh. When I first ran my 95 GTS at the strip, I was granny shifting, and launching pretty easy on her. After pulling pathetic 60' times and even more pathetic E/T's, I made a pass where I dumped the clutch real hard on the launch, and powershifted the whole way through. The hard launch helped get me out of the hole with a 1.9 60', and the powershifting landed my nearly stock 5.0 a 9.1 1/8 mile time.

Show me a 302 that runs 12.0 on motor. I have AFR 1855cc heads, Trickflow stage 2 cam, BBK SSI intake and other goodies and I was running 12.6 with a 1.6 60ft. I now have a vortech v-2 boostin 15 pounds and run a 10.8
My 93 Coupe ran 12.01 at 113.5 N/A Mods.... Tremek Tko, CenterForce Dual Friction Clutch, Protopline 200cc heads (600.00), E303 Cam, 1.6 Roller rockers, PowerPlus Rpm Airgap Knock Off intake, Holley 650 Carb, Shorty mac headers, O R H-Pipe, Mac mufflers. 4.10 gears, Could have easily gone faster with a bigger cam, went 11.50 at 125 on a 100 shot and street tires. Blew the tires off.

With the E303 cam I ran mostly 12.0's and had 2 11.9x runs. This movie clip is with a B-31 cam in it. I'm hoping to get some 1/4 mile runs this week.
