  • he made 21 films i posess 20 . good old george r.i.p.

  • i love how they censored hell

  • @tehhorror Such words were considered very tsboo in the 40's. In fact, any such referrence wouldn't be allowed by trhe censors of the time, which, if you think about it, is why so many of George Formby's songs rely on innuendo so much. Some of which are very cleverly done.

  • Ya know... ya just gotta love this guy!!!

  • @TWBee ...was this before he knocked out Joe Frazier..?

  • @HOMEnHIGH This is george formby not george foreman! haha

  • you know he kind of looks like alfalfa from the original little rascals

  • and he's got those lovely English teeth :-(

  • I am English by birth but brought up in Southern ~Africa and I knew all the George Formby songs when I was 18 or so due to a stepfather who played guitar and uke and his friend who did George Formby - and really looked the part too! I think he was brilliant and should be more seen in entertainment. We had 3 ukes in the house but who knows what happened to them.

  • George Formby, The Picture of Mad Skilz

  • proper anarchist

  • i like george he bought aloy of moral to this country while briraish troops were dieing for there country and that a gift u can never repay !! go on george ,,,,

  • There has never been ANYONE who can play better split strokes than George Formby.

  • This is My BIOLOGICAL Grandfather, because his BIOLOGICAL Son with Olga was Oscar Angel, and Oscar and My Mother Inger Maria Johanna got me done in Third Floor 1955 in Lyngstad,Norway....and My cousin/½Brother,OLA saw this happen in 1955..and Edmund to....

  • good song

  • Awesome :D

  • george could only be from lancashire.

  • That banjo solo was sweet.

  • he plays both the ukelele and the banjo, hes a musical genius!

  • He didn't play the banjo. What he played was the banjo-ukulele (or banjolele). The actual banjo is much bigger, and more complicated to play.

  • in some videos he appears to be playing seperate instruments, do they require different skills to play both or is it like electric/acoustic guitar?

  • No, it's just the same skills for all of them. It's true that, in some films, he plays an ordinary Hawaiian ukulele, but that and the banjo-uke have the same tuning and so on, so it is pretty much like electric/acoustic guitar :)

  • Er, firstly LOL at your garbled sentence. Secondly, is having a different opinion from yours really enough to warrant being called a dumb shit? No it isn't.

Just because modern guitar music evolved from older styles doesn't mean that one has to like them.

  • very funny song

  • George Formby, a funny, likeable everyday clown was a also a world class musician on that little banjo plaything of his.

In his acts he always gave the thumbs up. What would he have thought about present days "gangsta attitude"?

  • @KnockelII its a uke now a banjo also did u know he could onli play three chords =] nerly evry song is a different uke hahaha hes a legend though

  • @hyege Not true. He could play more than three chords. This song itself has several chords.
