bandai should make this into RG because it's a very popular kit, no lie. everytime i checked HLJ site and this model kit ALWAYS seem to go in stock and out of stock every time. WOW. i'm glad i bought one and it's definitely worth every penny. yes, i 100% agreed with you that it's a VERY VERY nice high grade kit. :)
Maybe not out class, but they are definitely catching up in detail as well as articulation. Last HGUC kit I looked at actually had an inner frame for the arm. Next thing you know they are going to release 1/144 MG :)
I couldn't imagime trying to apply dry-transfer decals to such small kits! lol
I suppose when I said "outclass", I was referring to the earliest MG's, such as the Zaku 1.0's. I love my Char custom Zaku to death, but in terms of articulation, it's simply atrocious.
I bought the Hazel II, Hazel Custom, and Advanced Hazel and combined all three.
the Tri-Booster pack from the Hazel II, some white accent parts from the Hazel Custom, and the Thruster Shield and Interceptor Shield, Sub-arm Unit, and Camera Visor from the Advanced Hazel.
Pretty nice for a HGUC. My only real gripe with HG models is the amount of details and other parts that need paint or stickers. I'm working on a HGUC GP02A, and the model comes with no yellow parts. I'm having a hell of a time trying to get the yellow on the front of the shoulder thrusters to look right. Other than that, the model is coming along OK and I anticipate it will be great when finished. Anyway, great video. I'm looking forward to your custom painted Hazel!
Well, bandai isn't kotobukiya which uses a lot (and I do mean a lot) of sprues to make the kit great out of the box, they even paint the sprues sometimes. Bandai is more of like Design & articulation over out of the box looks and details.
Yeah, I suppose that's sort of the trade-off. Choosing between looks or performance. Of course, most MG models nowadays have both looks and performance, and PG models need almost no work to look good. But with a HG, even if I have to do the work, I'd prefer painting the model my own way, instead of relying on a sloppy looking factory applied paintjob for all the small details.
It is a very nice looking HGUC 1/144 gundam model kit. This look alor better the virtue gundam, that kit looks like they didn't put any imaganation into it.Great review
I was wondering, can the Hazel Custom be mounted on an action base?

From the illustration, it looks like that moving part in his crotch that slides out acts as a holder for his beam rifle

I've never seen a High Grade kit with such complexity! It outclasses a lot of Master Grades!

The "grenade things" on the shoulders are mutlipurpose launchers, and the yellow things are flip-out handles.

I like the HGUC because of the odd suits they have that can only be found in that line.

Hazel gundam has sexy knees. Impressive model. I need to get over my fear of high grades because they are a lot better now days. This is proof.

i'm not gonna lie. i was impressed with the foot articulation. as well as the rest of this kit.

Some of my recommended HGUC's would have to be the powered GM, MP Guncannon, and the Zaku I.
Songy 3 years ago
I've actually considered getting a powered GM...
vegeta8259 3 years ago
The foot design is similar. Which makes sense since it was released close to when this kit was.
