This is the plot of the ending in reverse. Mario doesn't want cake, so peach takes back the kiss. Mario decides to turn Peach into a Power Star, randomly gets a wing cap and moon jumps.

After revealing her position in the world and expressing shock that Mario took off his hat, she quietly welcomes death, rises into the sky, and assumes her true form: a Power Star! Mario is deeply saddened by this and his hat gains wings and forcibly pulls him into Heaven. THE END :D
