This movie is just so good and so much better than anything else in many ways. A total subversion of the whole oligarchy and uptight world. I was totally shocked when the U.S. voted for Smails (Reagan). The snobotorium won the popular vote.
I play with the name Elihu Smails on GoldenEye for Wii. How cool is that? Imagine being the other player: "You were killed by Elihu Smails." I didn't want to do it, I felt I owed it to them.

god ted knight reminds me of my dad.played golf and was a judge.I loved my dad but ted knight does a spitting image of my father.
