Just want to clarify that SnickleFritz79 does not represent all Americans. Also how did a wedding video turn into a fight about which country's citizens work more? Anyway I love this couple! Mary and Frederik are so in love and their wedding was absolutely gorgeous! :)
I suppose as an American, I do not quite understand this obsession that Europeans have with royalty, nobility, and aristocracy. It just seems to wasteful and primitive to modern standards of how a country is governed (Hence, why the USA is a republic and not a monarchy).
But good for Denmark. I can sense that their royal family is much loved and I do think that Frederick and Mary will make an excellent King and Queen of Denmark.
@SnickleFritz79 This is true because alot of people from Republican countries see it from your point of view. But in saying that, you have to look at the countries that still have their monarchies. They are usually seen as great places to live, low crime rates, cleaner living, better social system like healthcare and pensions etc...I think it holds government to some accountability knowing that there is an office, although powerless, that is seen and held in a higher position than theirs.
@SnickleFritz79 Well...you guys have Hollywood and fast food to be obsessed with, while Europe has its royal families. For us, its an old tradition that unites us as people, as a nation, based purely on our common history and old traditions that goes back thousands and thousands of years before US was even "discovered". This is not a "power insitution", and they are NOT celebrities, this is a cultural and historical institution, a national symbol, something that brings us together as a people.
@Kemikaza84 If you want an undemocratic system of government with an unelected head of state, then by all means, As I stated, monarchies are outdated, primitive, undemocratic, and unconstitutional. To say that one person is higher in social status over the people is a blatant violation of human and civil rights. I do not want to live in Europe nor do I care about Europe. It's the land of socialism, fascim and communism. I am an American who believes in what the Founding Fathers stood for.
@SnickleFritz79 Well, those claims are awfully wrong. In theory: Yes, a monarchy is undemocratic, but in practice the monachy has NO political power so they have no political influence, it is just symbolic. The prime minister is the one in charge of the activities of government! You can't say that a monarchy is outdated and primitive! Maybe for US who has another historical context. For modern monarchies of Europe its an important institution perfectly integrated into the democracy.
@SnickleFritz79 ... ...it is even claimed, that the high degree of democracy there exists in Denmark in practice is thanks to the monarchy. If you want to talk about violtions of human rights in practice I can assure you that Denmark has a muuuuch higher status than US when it comes to human and civil rights: Just look at the death penalty in the US, a very primitive and outdated thing which is considered a huge violation of human rights: the right to live.
@SnickleFritz79 As for the democratic level, its no secret that US has much more corruption than ever seen in Denmark. Denmark is the least corrupt country in the world and we all know what a corrupt system does to your democracy and civil rights and Constitution....there IS no democracy when the elected politicians sell their power and votes for money! You have some weird accusations against the Euro. political system! There is no communist, facisct or socialist state, Europe is social-liberal
@SnickleFritz79 Sorry to burst that bubble but having a monarchy is not unconstitutional, the monarchy is part of the constitution of those countries and it would be UNconstitutional to skip the monarchy unless the democracy votes. And with 80% of supporters of their current system I doubt it's gonna happen.
@SnickleFritz79 The Constitution of the US was created way back, lets say that it's pretty old fashion and outdated as you say about a monarchy. Some people would argue that you should follow your Constitution in literal strict terms instead of giving the judicial branch the freedom to interpret it according to daily life. But just like with the US Constitution, the monarchy's power isn't going to be understood in literal strict terms, it has adjusted over time to fit the modern democracy.
@chichiflix1 I am one of those people who does believe that the US Constitution should be obeyed word for word. When James Madison wrote the Bill of Rights in 1787, he envisioned an America that wasn't entangled in foreign alliances, one with absolute and complete freedom if speech, press, religion, and to bear arms. Americans demand limited government. Unlike Europeans who want their government to take care of them through welfare, Americans believe that it is violating our personal liberties.
@SnickleFritz79 So hide away those Americanized history books about the US wanting independence from UK to prevent the Kings tyranny. This is 2011, things have changed in EU. I think there are more communists and facists living in US than there are left in Europe.I can't see why some degree of socialism is bad if it means no poverty, low crime, health care and education for everyone, same posibilities in life for everyone regardless of social status and we are the happiest people in the world.
@SnickleFritz79 I totally get your point and I like the idea about having unlimited economic freedom. But, money is not everything and where is your personal freedom if there are areas in a country where you can't walk on the street bc of high crime rates and hostility caused by poverty that creates desperation and social tensions in a society? The development of a country is a combination of economic welfare AND social wellbeing. Not everyone are able to climb the social latter without money!
@SnickleFritz79 Europeans are not" taken care of by the state", they work to gain what they receive but make sure that the wealth is distributed so that we can live in harmony. That doesn't take away our personal freedom. When you talk about personal freedom its about being able to earn 70% moer than your neighbour or having right to carry guns. In Europe we ask: how come personal freedom doesn't include a gay couple who want to marry? Or the woman who wants an abortion? Its her body, isn't it?
@chichiflix1 Nobody works in Europe. They are lazy peiople with a lousy work ethic. Whereas the typical American works a 40+ hour worl week, those in France are lucky to work a 35 hour work week, if that. Add to that a 2 hour lunch break every day and we are talking major slackers. I hate socialism with all of its might nor is it the government's duty to provide healthcare to people.
Gay people cannot marry because they are not God;s children. They break the law by committing sodomy.
@SnickleFritz79 Haha that IS hilarious. If European people are lazy people with lousy work ethics then explain why Western European countries are so rich (at the moment they are better off than the US economy in many ways), and explain how the European states can give all this welfare to the population if there are no people working to create the large tax revenues that are used to pay all this? Where do our government get the money from? And the Bible is against killing (death penalty and guns)
sorry, but you might want to explain what europe you are talking about and where exactly is this europe you think you know everything about?? it's certainly not the europe I know...because in this europe we work 40 h weeks as well ;)
@pink91ilg I was merely using the country of France as an example. The French work between 32 to 35 hours a week which is considerably less than other countries in the Western world. I do not claim to know the labor laws in other European countries. However, it is a well known fact that the French works less than a typical American does.
@Asxhmoula i think the high nervious mary was there, my own wedding for me i try to keep calm but its imposible i wish someone advice me in the morning took a pill to relax and stay a way from crying and ruined my makeover jaja, i think she was super serenity but to do this you need to be very strong i think...
I enjoyed the wedding of Crown Prince Frederick and Crown Princess Mary very much. I have watched it more than 10 times. She is real princess and was nervous on her wedding day. Those people who has nothing nice to say, please leave her alone. She is a very interesting person and long live the Danish Royal Family. She and Crown Prince Frederick deserve happiness with their beautiful children.
I'd love to know what music this is at the begining, if anyone knows? I think it's a setting of the Prayer of St. Francis. It's vaguely familiar. I'm a classical musician, and it's cool to hear "new" classical music like this used in high-profile settings like this. Thanks!
Wonderful this video. THIS COUPLE AND THE COUPLE OF NORWAY ARE THE BEST WEDDING OF EUROPEAN. This Princesses are very pretties, very charming, very ellegants, the BEST! THIS ARE A DREAM!
...people who hate something don't waste their time trolling videos of the very thing they hate. It just shows how pathetic their own life that they need to resort to nothing but hate for a person they probably don't even know personally. She's a princess, a CROWN princess, and you ain't. Get off your morally high horses and get over it.
AND get off her videos too. So sick of seeing the same jealous trolls on such beautiful videos.
And something else for all you haters, you know who you are since its the same people that post on video's about CP Mary, I click on her video's because I think she is a real life fairy tale come true and I admire her, if y'all hate her so much, why do you type in her name and watch? Or why do you click on a video even though the title of it says CP Frederik and CP Mary?
Ditto acivilcampaigh. I'm also an American who has always been impressed with the Danish Royal family. Well...since WWII. Can't say I know much about them before that. But their monarchy has evolved into an apolitical institution that really serves the country and advances its image abroad.
I think maybe that giant veil, must be so very heavy, and she has to pull it with her hair/head....that can makes a lot of people nervous + the fact that everybody in Denmark was watching, plus many other countries as well.
So maybe that´s why she snapped a bit at her bridesmaids.

If looks could kill, pause @ 5:14 seconds..Mary's bridesmaid would have been dead right there. Mary on her very wedding day was a scary Bridezilla, couldn't even be genuinely happy she was getting married.
I don't care if she was nervous. There was no need to snap and glare at her bridesmaids. She had been like that even before she entered the church, giving side-eyes at her own Dad and was so stiff when waving to the cameras, like she couldn't crack a smile or her make-up will crack up, too.
@martiandoll wow, you are seriously nitpicking things that anyone but someone who truly hates her can see. How is that look at 5:14 gonna kill anyone? It looks like she was telling her bridesmaid to give her bouquet over to her, and when she did she smiled at her. Where exactly is it where she 'snares and glares? And she wasn't giving side glance at her dad you idiot, you can tell she was acknowledging the dignitaries that were there and they were acknowledging her back. Sheesh, hater much?
@AinslieRiddell She was snapping at her bridesmaids the whole wedding day. Did you see when she refused to get out of the wedding carriage until her bridesmaids came from another car, making the royals, dignitaries, etc. wait for her while she sat there, fuming? Then she saw her sisters and asked them "Where have you been?" and you could tell she was ticked off but was hiding it behind a stiff smile.
She just couldn't let go...even now she is still so stiff and cold.
I keep coming back to look at these posting of this wedding. This is by far the most beautifully presented Royal wedding ever and by far the most tasteful. Does anyone know the name and composer of the first piece in this clip? Stunningly beautiful. The recessional is a very famous piece, but I can't remember who the composer is either. A Brit I think.
BEAUTIFUL!!! The Danish Monarchy knows how to combine traditional things with a modern touch! Teally well styled, classic, almost trancedental music!!
"THE ANIMAL BEEING named MARY DONALDSON as ... A JEWESS" was INTRODUCED into THE ROYAL FAMILY as THE MOST IMPORTANT JEWISH SPY so "SUCH A MARY" DESTROYED THE ROYAL FAMILY in "SUCH A WAY" that SHE EVOKED A SITUATION that JUST "THE MARY DESTROYED THE FAMILY of JOACHIM=THE ONLY BROTHER of PRINCE FEDERIC" what CAUSED that THE FANTASTIC PRINCE JOACHIM started to BE A KIND of ANIMAL INSTEAD to RULE in DENMARK TERRITORY as "THE ONLY BROTHER of THE PRYMITIVE SEX SERVANT FEDERIC to THE JEWESS MARY!!!!
The most tasteful of all the royal weddings with in a century and of the time. Perfect, the flowers are incredible and whom ever planned this new what they were doing presentation and color. I like the unpretentious attitudes. They know they are of the 21st century.
I love her dress, very modern and actually looks comfortable once the train is detached and my tastes run towards traditional but that is an awesome dress!
At 5:04-5:11, Mary gets unattractively impatient with her bridesmaids for not bringing the flowers to her immediately.
There is something about this couple that I don't like.... They're certainly very physicially attractive, but he seems a bit immature, and she seems haughty. Some say that, of all the European crown princes, Frederik is the least prepared to reign. But who knows? These are impressions & speculation. It's hard to tell without knowing them personally.
I've noticed something odd about them too. but regarding the flower's thing, my opinion is that every bride in her wedding day wants that everything is perfect, especially if you are royal bride, and the pressure on her on that day was incredible...
@claypoint3 more than that; at no time do I see her "sharing" the moment. There is little if any eye contact with the bridesmaid(ladies in red) & what little there is; there is no smiling or even small exchanges. The waving at the entrance; she seems impatient with having to do that. It could be she feels out of her element but I sense a haughtiness that is prevalent in self-centered people. I also sense a seasoned player who has captured the heart of a little boy.
I have to say, as an American all the royal families of Europe are totally hilarious to me, but the Danish royal family are different: so appealing and real-seeming, who seem to actually like each other and are attractive without being stiff or plastic-seeming. Bless.
now that's a funny choice of words: 'totally hilarious'!. You may not like royalty/monarchies, etc but to say you find them hilarious that's quite something... Perhaps in America you don't understand tradition...now what I find 'hilarious' is for your embassies abroad to celebrate your day of independence with hamburguers..in a picnic!! Probably you don't find that hilarious...LOL
@acivilcampaign then i think u should see the swedish crown princess wedding.. she is real, tho i dont know about her husband. ( i dont follow them that much) But she is down to earth and a normal person. :) strong hearted woman.
Im danish and i agree ab mary and fred. perfect! im so glad he found a down to earth woman to take over one day in his companionship. :) mary means ALOT for danes! I think there are a few thrones in europe that stick out more than others. :)
At the same time it must be absolutely wonderful and yet strange, suddenly to witness ones sister to become crown-princess of a country they probably never heard of before.. Bet they are proud
And I love how the Queen of Denmark is so down-to-earth and real, blowing a tender kiss to the newlywed couple. Not like Queen Elizabeth II on the wedding of Charles and Diana... as much as I respect her as a queen, she just looked pissed for most of the time when she should not have been! I mean, your own son is getting married, BE HAPPY!
I just LOVE their wedding and I don't care about the comparisons to the wedding of Prince Charles and Princess Diana saying that the wedding of Prince Frederik and Mary is not as extravagant... WHO CARES! Frederik and Mary's wedding is much more interesting to watch: it's less pretentious, less stuffy, and it is much more "real"; there is a happy and romantic ambiance to this wedding, unlike the wedding of Charles and Diana, which was only important because of Diana, the beautiful angel.
Crown Princess Mary THE DREAM. The more beautiful Princess and Princess Mette-Mariet, Madeleine, Victoria and Máxima. Others......the more UGLY is letizia spain.....only plastiques, only "SHOES" BIG, BIG, BIG, more antiphatique, without fine, class, ...the titanic of Monarchy.
there is one but its played during the start of the dinner and its called the Royal Anthem of Denmark or another name for it is King Christian stood by the lofty mast
TUDO PERFEITO, TUDO NO TOPO.
She was beautiful indeed, but I must say the best wedding dress was that of CrownPrincess Maxima, made by Valentino, it was the best I've ever seen. Talking about splendour, Diana is the winner, she was so radiant that day!!!!
yeah, Maxima's dress was beautiful, but her performance took off in a church with all High guests placed on kinda plastic chairs, while in Danmark ALL was matching!!
She was the most beautiful bride after Diana.......I really like her. No other Princess can be compared. Just Diana. Even when they are so different. But Mary has this glamour when she appears. And she has a damn good taste in fashion.
I love this couple- he gave her such a sweet smile- good to see people in love and happy - they are gorgeous together-it makes me happy to watch this-
These royal weddings are so so beautiful- they leave me feeling happy to see such pomp and pagaentry but the best part is the romance and real love displayed here.
I hope to see William and Kate getting married in television someday hope to watch it. I like Crown Princess Mary very much she and Crown Prince Fredrick are a cute couple
A Princesa Mary é a Princesa das Princesas. Em Beleza, em Cultura, em Classe, em Saber Estar é Real e não fiteira, Ela vem dum Berço cheio de Educação e juntou-se a Uma Grande Rainha.
Just want to clarify that SnickleFritz79 does not represent all Americans. Also how did a wedding video turn into a fight about which country's citizens work more? Anyway I love this couple! Mary and Frederik are so in love and their wedding was absolutely gorgeous! :)

She had been like that even before she entered the church, giving side-eyes at her own Dad and was so stiff when waving to the cameras, like she couldn't crack a smile or her make-up will crack up, too.
martiandoll 1 year ago
@martiandoll wow, you are seriously nitpicking things that anyone but someone who truly hates her can see. How is that look at 5:14 gonna kill anyone? It looks like she was telling her bridesmaid to give her bouquet over to her, and when she did she smiled at her. Where exactly is it where she 'snares and glares? And she wasn't giving side glance at her dad you idiot, you can tell she was acknowledging the dignitaries that were there and they were acknowledging her back. Sheesh, hater much?

At 5.20 she snips at her bridesmaid! Stressed out!
AinslieRiddell 1 year ago
@AinslieRiddell She was snapping at her bridesmaids the whole wedding day. Did you see when she refused to get out of the wedding carriage until her bridesmaids came from another car, making the royals, dignitaries, etc. wait for her while she sat there, fuming? Then she saw her sisters and asked them "Where have you been?" and you could tell she was ticked off but was hiding it behind a stiff smile.
She just couldn't let go...even now she is still so stiff and cold.

Widor, now that is a surprise.

@titusmountjoy indeed - a faux pas of massive proportions. What was Mary doing having the coronation music played for her wedding?

recessional; Charles-Marie Widor (1845-1937): Toccata 5
Organ symphony played by Flemming Dreisig.

I found my answer; Palle Mikkelborg (f. 1941): 'Simple Prayer', arranged for the Royal Wedding for solo trumpet, harp, soprano and choir.
Helen Davies Mikkelborg, harp

I keep coming back to look at these posting of this wedding. This is by far the most beautifully presented Royal wedding ever and by far the most tasteful. Does anyone know the name and composer of the first piece in this clip? Stunningly beautiful. The recessional is a very famous piece, but I can't remember who the composer is either. A Brit I think.

You are right it is hard to tell without knowing them!I have a very different impression of them though, only time tell.

I've noticed something odd about them too. but regarding the flower's thing, my opinion is that every bride in her wedding day wants that everything is perfect, especially if you are royal bride, and the pressure on her on that day was incredible...
babyandmauryfan 2 years ago 4
@claypoint3 more than that; at no time do I see her "sharing" the moment. There is little if any eye contact with the bridesmaid(ladies in red) & what little there is; there is no smiling or even small exchanges. The waving at the entrance; she seems impatient with having to do that. It could be she feels out of her element but I sense a haughtiness that is prevalent in self-centered people. I also sense a seasoned player who has captured the heart of a little boy.

It's the "Toccata" from the "Symphony No. 5 for Organ" by the French composer Charles Marie Widor.

I have to say, as an American all the royal families of Europe are totally hilarious to me, but the Danish royal family are different: so appealing and real-seeming, who seem to actually like each other and are attractive without being stiff or plastic-seeming. Bless.
acivilcampaign 2 years ago 38
now that's a funny choice of words: 'totally hilarious'!.

Tiana3009 2 years ago
And I love how the Queen of Denmark is so down-to-earth and real, blowing a tender kiss to the newlywed couple. Not like Queen Elizabeth II on the wedding of Charles and Diana... as much as I respect her as a queen, she just looked pissed for most of the time when she should not have been! I mean, your own son is getting married, BE HAPPY!
pinkstar32390 2 years ago
I just LOVE their wedding and I don't care about the comparisons to the wedding of Prince Charles and Princess Diana saying that the wedding of Prince Frederik and Mary is not as extravagant... WHO CARES! Frederik and Mary's wedding is much more interesting to watch: it's less pretentious, less stuffy, and it is much more "real"; there is a happy and romantic ambiance to this wedding, unlike the wedding of Charles and Diana, which was only important because of Diana, the beautiful angel.
pinkstar32390 2 years ago
Crown Princess Mary THE DREAM. The more beautiful Princess and Princess Mette-Mariet, Madeleine, Victoria and Máxima. Others......the more UGLY is letizia spain.....only plastiques, only "SHOES" BIG, BIG, BIG, more antiphatique, without fine, class, ...the titanic of Monarchy.

TUDO PERFEITO, TUDO NO TOPO.

She was beautiful indeed, but I must say the best wedding dress was that of CrownPrincess Maxima, made by Valentino, it was the best I've ever seen. Talking about splendour, Diana is the winner, she was so radiant that day!!!!
babyandmauryfan 2 years ago 3
yeah, Maxima's dress was beautiful, but her performance took off in a church with all High guests placed on kinda plastic chairs, while in Danmark ALL was matching!!

She was the most beautiful bride after Diana.......I really like her. No other Princess can be compared. Just Diana. Even when they are so different. But Mary has this glamour when she appears. And she has a damn good taste in fashion.
