But the advertised lifespan, and the real lifespan, of four of the CFL's I've bought from different manufacturers lasted maybe 50 hours - if that. I'm not driving them anywhere, so they went into the trash (since who would think to keep receipts for bulbs with lifespans advertised to be so long?) CFL's are a scam.
Use a digital caliper or similar electronic device, and hold the device within 3 to 5 feet of a CFL twisty bulb. Then watch the fun begin. Then hold the digital calipers up to a microwave oven. The calipers have to be directly up against the microwave chamber to create the same effect. I think there are excessive EMFs (Electromagnetic Field) emitting from the CFL, which is why we do NOT install the twistys unless they are at least 7 feet away from human traffic.
I watched one of those CFL bulbs burst into flames right in front of my eyes this morning in my desk lamp. It wasn't touching anything other than the ceramic fixture in was fitted into. It was never hot either. Do some net research. This is happening to people all over the place. They can spontaneously catch fire. There is also evidence that they cause skin cancer and migraines.

Something tells me there's going to be a black market on incandescents. And I wouldn't worry about CO2, sweeties. There's more argon in the atmosphere than CO2, and there'd have to be far more of it to create any sort of greenhouse effect. With our sun at the Maunder Minimum (ask your science teacher what that is, assuming s/he knows, considering how well they've brainwashed you on this), get ready for a brutally cold period that ain't going away any time soon.
@n0bst you are right! There will be a black market! There is a black market for ciggarettes in new york cause they are 10 bucks a pack! Almost the same situation!
