  • Thank You!

  • @BenOn2011 you seen the date, it was obvious phil collins was on vocals, if you wanted pete why click this 1? lol

  • Sadly, it's not Peter Gabriel's smoking voice -- just Phil...

  • they really were the best mike rutherford flawless genesis

  • different drums to the studio version . so what is that the carpet crawlers is on a continious loop. Phil probably recorded the drum section.

  • i hope genesis release instrumentals so we can sing to them. Phil sounds deeper i think this is half a key down.

  • quit blabing before the song

  • Yup. It's Phil Collins - note the "tickler takes his stickleback - back - back - back" and the vocal coda. The instrumental mix is interesting - not quite the same as the original (fully produced?) mix on the album.

  • beautiful

  • It's Phil singing in the studio. In concert he never sang the very beginning IE: A salamander scurries into flame to be destroyed. Imaginary creatures are trapped in birth on celluloid. The fleas cling to the golden fleece, Hoping they'll find peace. Each thought and gesture are caught in celluloid. There's no hiding in my memory. There's no room to avoid.

HE STARTED WITH The crawlers cover the floor in the red ochre corridor. For my second sight of people, they've more lifeblood than before

  • wasnt it chester thomson? on 3 sides?

  • He was the drummer 1979; Bill Bruford had already gone before Chester came.

  • Give me a hat that says geek on it - the live track being played at the end is It/Watcher of the Skies version that ended up on 'Three Sides LIve' as I recognize Bill Bruford's particular way of drumming on that track (I'm a drummer as well!)

  • man Phil's voice sounds great

  • Sorry, but it's Peter.

  • I believe it's Phil based on the year. They mentioned an original tape and it was a radio program....end of song it is said Collins on vocals. Phil all the way!! I'm sticking with my opinion but ask you to please listen again closely and let me know if you can hear that it is Phil i would say showing off but i don't think he's like that. He is just beyond amazingly talented.

Peter never stood a chance Phil is the best all around from vocals to drums just a great entertainer. He is the greatest!

  • If you actually think that's Peter Gabriel singing.....

  • It is Phil and he is hands down the best ever. It was a radio show he brought in the original backing track and sang apparently on-air.

Robert332201 should maybe just feel bad for Peter because when Phil does this song effortlessly kareoking Peter and doing it more his way it's even a better sounding song!! Phil Collins has yet to be topped by anyone(my opinion)

SO YES apptarheel his voice does sound great..

sorry Peter your great drummer it ends up was what your band needed not you!!

  • All I can say is: Thank you for posting this.

    This is incredible.
