my air compressure pumps up to 50 psi..when i use the airbrush it gos down to 20 psi?? is that right ? iam putting an controll vaule on it .. to controll the air comeing out ...is that ok..sorry bout all the questions ....
omg ..lol this is what happened to me today.. it wouldnt come out of the airbrush..i have house of color paint..hows that stuff to use..ill tell u....it wouldnt comeout of the airbrush and clogged it all up... have to clean it just for anything to comeout..lol thanks for the vids..i watch them alot..iam just learning ,,,,oh yea... do i need high air pressure ..like 40 -50 psi...or should i use like 15-20 psi..?
i first tried auto air when it came out. i thought i sucked bad. i quit being scared and started using car paints.i found out i sucked only half as much. for metal, plastics and even leather. nothing beats it. you can get it for free if you ask right at the bodyshops. youll wind up with work too.it lasts forever too. i still have some paints over 20 years old...good video

im having some trouble getting my airbrush to flow properly, the paint is automatically flowing when i push down on the trigger, before i even begin to pull it back, how do i fix this problem? and by the way all of your tips and tricks are really helpfull, thanks
what -r-u- thinning the paint out with ? I seen some at a craft store, unsure what type t is. but is it paint thinner, laquer thinner ? Water for water base ? I wana practice on tshirt stuff. dont need automotive
Thank you very much for explaining this. I'm an artist and I normally paint using oil paint (and paint brushes of course)…
So I’ve just recently got an airbrush and have just started to get used to it and I’m really enjoying it. Its such a nice break from the traditional way of painting. Right now, I’m enjoying this more. This video has really helped me. Really helpful video. 5/5
thanks for the help mate. just started this airbrush lark and it seems full of pitfalls. good job there are blokes like you willing to give free advice LUM
ok so im new to airbrushing and im using createx paints and it splaters. ive tried reducing air pressure thining paint ect... an even got a new airbrush still not fixed and its killing my interest in airbrushing since i cant learn the basics pls can some one help me
i like your video... i recently got using an airbrush at work (cabinet finishing) as they train me i have been more interested in learning what i can do with it...
Reducer=Pledge with Future Shine floor finish. It's an acrylic base without color. Says it right on the bottle. Sprays like silk with Createx paints. Actually makes the paint more durable. For some reason it's better than the Createx reducer...go figure! Gonna try it as soon as I can find some.
@ReadyPrepper this works great i been useing future floot wax on createx ever since i found out about it and its wonderful, i just started useing auto air tho and i dont know if the future shine will work the same on it, have u tried it with auto air???
@insanebullet --no, but I find myself using more and more of that $.98 Wal-Mart acrylic paint with the future shine and a .03mm tip and needle. All I have is the Master G44 airbrush, which is total junk, but it works decent with the above mentioned paint. I've yet to use auto air due to lack of funds. i would post a video but my camcorder broke. I had it mounted on my AK47 and the shock was more than it could bear :-)
very confusing. I would imagine that a water based paint is thinned with water. Can you be more specific about this. Is it a special thinning agent or just water?
Thanks for all you do Tony :) Using AA and Iwata HPC, tried air pressure from 5-40psi, reduce 3:1 as suggested, brush is clean. When I depress trigger, paint spits even though I haven't pulled back, also when I start to move the trigger forward after spraying, there is a point where it sprays more paint before less?? Very frustrating. Have been practicing alot, but have most of my troubles come from not being able to get the paint to flow consistantly. Thanks again.
these are pretty interesting little clips right here. I've just started airbrushing (tho in a scale-model context..but the principle is the same I assume) and I still have to get that right feel for reducing my paints. From time to time I hit that sweet spot where it's just right, but there's also a lot of near misses so to speak. Keep trying it out is the way to go I guess.
I got a question about using Testors acrylic paint because that is all i really have to work with right now, does work pretty well for clothes or even paper at the very least? On videos and sites I visited there was no mention unless it was for airbrushing model cars
What kind of "paint" are you using and are you using paint thinner (mineral spirits? If you use createx or any other water based INK ,this will gum up the works.
That's awesome. My daughter is eating regular food now so I use other small containers now. When you have a baby. There are tons of baby food containers around all the time ,lol.
@AirbrushTricks You want good small container's I bought 500 Hospital Pill cups BUT there are Good ones and Bad the Bad ones will dissolve with Acrylic thinner's.
hey tony i was wondering im new to airbrushing and i got some createx paint and i heard that it is ready to use paint... is that true??? so my ? is do i have to thin createx paint out or can i just throw it into my airbrush and spray or not thx 4 the sweet vid hope to hear from u
Hey, one of the most important things of your vid that you forget to say is how we reduce the paint, wich is the reducer or how do you do the reducer.
Check medical supply places or check with your doc's staff, see if they will sell you a bunch of disposable medicine cups - same thing they have on top of cough medicine, and cheap. Might score a boxful on ebay too.
I LOVE those baby food plastics - wish they had those when my sons were babies (sons are your age so it was the age of glass jars).
what do you use as a reducer?
