I know it is difficult, but don't be too hard on yourself. Emotional eating is just like any other coping addiction. Some people drink or pop pills to feel better, we just eat. It makes us happy, we enjoy it, and that is our "drug" of choice. I say "we" because I am in the same boat. One week "sober" and then I fall off the wagon again.
Stace, do you like to read? Three books I've recently found extremely helpful -
Transformational Weight Loss and The Yoga of Eating, both by Charles Eisenstein
The End of Overeating by David Kessler
They are all easy to find online/at libraries. Transformational Weight Loss can also be read for free online at three w's-foodsanity-com slash online-php (put dots in place of dashes)
If you're a reader, I think you'll find a lot of good food for thought in these...
ps-you are not alone, that's how jakki and i sounded when we tried to make videos. and people wonder why those videos were so few-because we wanted to stay together-that's why!
you hang in there. i understand that it takes an extreme amount of self awareness to move forward on this journey and that's not always something that is easy to face on a daily basis. to constantly analyze yourself, your emotions, physical needs, and the situation would be complicated in the best of circumstances. i wish you continued health and the mental clarity to face these challenges and rise above them.
