  • Apparently builders, looking for cheap materials, filled cement out with sea shells and rocks; this made the buildings weaker. I can't believe they could do that.

  • it was 7.6 Mw(Richter), not 7.4

  • painful but true..Although feathers are still thorny to pass 12 years, and unfortunately, everything we lived our life with fear and pain that we will..

  • 1957 thru 1959 I was at the air station near Karamursel...the buildings built there did not fall down.

  • cant believe its been 11 years..

  • I was in the army back then, stationed in south-east bulgaria, very close to the border. I felt the quake that night pretty bad and it was only 4.1. Next hour we were transferred to Izmit to help... it was unimaginable pain to see all that while it's still so fresh.

  • i was 2 years old when tis happend and my grandmother and grandfather died.

  • My great aunt and uncle went through that earthquake. I remember hearing about the news and going to Turkey the next year. I walked through Değirmendere, and seeing all the destroyed buildings made me feel terrible. I was five then, but I can still remember every feeling.

  • I was in Istanbul, a city pretty close to the epicenter as you can see on the map, but I was 3, so I don't remember anything.

  • Our teacher made us watch this for homework; and we're in Year 9!

  • i am going to show this video to my honors physical geography class as an example for my project thanks for posting it

  • Awesome video. Very touching. I was in Turkey but I didn't experience it. I was far from the epicenter but still, I could feel the pain and I could understand the pain; the feeling on hundreds of people. What caused more deaths, however, were panic from probably heart attacks to suicide like panicking and jumping out the window of the 5th floor or something like that. So sad.

  • I was sleeping that day. I was 10 :S . I was lived in İzmir. there also was felt. very bad :(

  • ...and o. c. i "don't know the meaning of the word lezbo" ? You 're absolutely right! I DON'T! ( not that i have anything against gay people).

  • My ways are ideal when it comes to facing people like you who just CANNOT understand what they are reading! I never argued with anyone in the first place. You started it little ... mermaid! O.C i'm "childish" and i have a "spiteful" life watching...Mermaids all day long!!! As to "keeping my thoughts for myself" GOOD IDEA! But you should have applied it first TO YOURSELF before replying to my 1st PEACEFUL comment, DON'T YOU THING?

  • Plus, you should correct your nickname too. "CallingAllmyClients69" suits you definately better !

  • Btw, correct the 10% bitchy in your channel and start telling the truth: THAT YOU ARE 100% BITCH THAT IS!

  • Guys, i am greek and i would like to apologize about the STUPID comments of that asshole "GreekFromBirth". Don't pay any attention to him! He is a well known wanker! We felt and shared your pain from this enormous misfortune that afflicted our neighbours.
