im 15 and when i try to talk about GREAT music like this with my friends,or anyone for that matter they all look at me like the hell r u talking about, whos steamhammre or whos brainbox yo listen to beiber hes the shit.
Don't you worry brother and keep rocking. I'm well over 30 and still have the same comments from my friend...I was too born in the wrong era...
There is a excellent radio that I listen here in U.K, I don't know where you are but you can listen on the net. The name is Planet Rock - check it out and you will discover many good old classic rock.....Cheers!
I've LOVED this song since its creation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go man go!!!! The days when artists knew their musical instruments, not like the paper ones today that mime to everything. You tube me too: fige ela/violetta
@wayzey No I dont take Benzo's and yes over use of acid does leave you in zombie like state. Your reaction to my comment suggests you're the one with a Benzo problem. Guilt and despair maybe?
Four years earlier madea Swedish band a recording which I also think is something beyond the ordinary. Listen to "Beautiful Delilah" and "skinnie Minnie" with THE ZETTLERS.
Very good considering the recording was made nearly 50 years ago.
Continues the legacy of the Dave Edmunds Love Sculpture albums in stunning fashion. One of the last great albums of it's type before the UK scene went weird, and the American scene went soft. Wonderful production too. Cheers
I was a young teenager, as I heared this LP in the early 70ies. Steamhammer was a great band - I think, the last time I heared this album anytime in the mid 70ies I think. This was the typical sound of this time. Sitting on the floor, smoking some pot, hanging around, smiling and eating..........many young people did the same in the early 70ies (I growed up in Austria - 75 I was travelling around Europe, India and to the US) everywhere I met the same kind of young longhaired people.
I saw them live in these days.....it was just magic and still is! They did so fantastic songs, it is so sad they only existed a few years, you can listen again and again and again....
i used to go to their concerts, which was usually in small venues or open air. they never made it big internationally. which is a pity. i think they deserved it. other groups who playd on these more local events/festivals were amon duul and guru guru. i think there was also kraftwerk. but it's been a long time. these small concerts were sometimes better then huge ones. less confusion. more manageable.
I was fifteen just left school, 50 pence to get in Plymouth Guildhall .. Awesome will never forget it, Duster Bennett was support, Lord Please take me back x
I`m 45 and this is the first time I have heard this song, I`m so sorry steamhammer...fantastic tune...! I`m on the ebay for their cd`s thanks for this buddy...

The bass player lives in Worthing, wanders round like a zombie, looks like an acid casuality.

Until a few months ago i'd only ever heard Quo's version of this, and although a life-long Quo fan, i much prefer Steamhammer's....

This was the great band. Part of their greatness comes from the fact that they are relatively unknown. No irony intended.

Steamhammer ist eine der ganz großen Bands der 60er / 70er. Leider nicht so bekannt geworden, wie sie's verdient hätten.
