Ron Paul - what a complete hypocrite - he votes no on appropriations bill but packs his own pork knowing that it will pass with Democrat votes. ron paul is king hypocrite. What libertarian would do this? YOU PEOPLE are drinking Koolaid, if any liberal or conservative said what Ron Paul did here you would call him a hypocrite. Your cult of personality is amazing. You call Cavuto names but don't address his legitimate question - why vote no but still pack your pork "Someone else will spend it?
I am sick of Fixed News. They were unfair to Paul in the election and they are purposely trying to hurt his reputation. They know how much the Liberetarian Movement has gained in the last couple years.
Neil is being intellectually dishonest here. All appropriations of Congress should be detailed to the penny. Paul doesn't come off here as clear as he probably otherwise is capable of, but the problem is that the bills themselves are unconstitutional, in that the federal government grants itself jurisdiction in the states. So the problem isn't "earmarks", but rather the states have become slaves to the purse of the government over time via unconstitutional means.
i think we need to make a media stink about this one gize...
gathering the internet and having ron paul supporters email - in efforts to enlighten cavuto - would be the only real way to get rid of this item that MSM has latched onto for a year now.
What people don't seem to understand is that an earmark takes some of the money in the appropriations bill and says that it has to be spent on that project.
So we give $1M to the transportation department, and attached to that bill is $100K for a bridge to be repaired.
That means the Trans dept gets $1M, then $100K of that is spent on the bridge leaving $900K for them to spend as they please.
They "could" choose to fix that bridge, or they could have spent that money on whatever they wanted.
Ron Paul is right. he is intelligent, unlike most people.
