  • @datcoolguy44 dont focus on this, practice what you are given and just practice sometimes, and then in highschool you will be a lot better than this guy trust me

  • Ure good man how long hav u been playin because its about to be my first year of experience im a 6th grader

  • What's he doing 1:40-1:49

  • I suggest wrapping your pointer finger around the stick...more control. On both hands.

  • 1:41 -1:48 tutorial please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • your grip is wrong

  • It looks like he is hitting the pad with giant cigerettes

  • i actually like these older invador pads then the new ones..lighter sound

  • 0:47-0:54 i love that!

  • @rais135 swing section, written by Mike McIntosh

  • Yeaaahh! WHS and NHS drumline instructor! Swag!

  • it looks like hes not even hiting the drum.

  • you need ear plugs for that rim. I don't know why people think Invader is all that.....

  • nice Vic Firth t-shirt

  • is that the v3 or v2

  • Man, I hate your guts Nbolay. I can't afford that practice pad, can't play rudiments like that and here's the kicker . . . I'm trying to give up smoking and you are playing with what looks like the longest and most tasty cigarettes I've ever seen. Once again, I'm filled with hate and envy.

  • @Eleutherarch dude hahaha i give you PROPS

  • he cooll lol

  • anyone else here the playing in the back ground

  • Watch those heights.

  • you are better than me xD

  • @xxRainyDeathBladexx feel free to display yours for comparison...i'm sure they are plentiful

  • @nbolay i think he was being sarcastic.. lol

  • @nbolay i dont see anything wrong with ur chops....and i love your response

  • @xxRainyDeathBladexx Awww that's adorable, little boy. Go back to botching your way through Ditty, and make sure to ruin Electric Wheelchair for anyone with ears when you're done.

  • @xxRainyDeathBladexx you suck, troll

  • @mrOffworldpad NBOLAY RAISES DRUMMERS NOT CHILDREN

  • you can also tape it to the stick to stop your pinky from flying and just do diddles nonstop until you can take off the tape it will feel natural.

  • @DynuhstyzHD keep fingers on the stick and work double strokes to develop roll quality

  • Vic Firth T-Shirt

  • I like the hertas.

  • I love how your accents just pop out of nowhere.

    Beautiful.

  • Dude your chops are awesome.

  • @mrOffworldpad in my kids' playroom...has good natural lighting

  • @nbolay What sticks are you using?

  • @OrangeAvACounty Vic Firth R. Hardimon Indoor

  • @screamodrummer1234 video quality seems fine to me...and to everyone who told you it was tape...

  • amazing man! keep it up!

  • @mexiboii001 actually I marched BDB two years and have played percussion for four years. It was the video quality that threw me off asshole.

  • Looks like your playing in the nursery of a church.

  • my right hand can move that fast but not my left how do trian ur left hand

  • @DJMCY510 4x as many L hand reps on basics like 8s, double beat, accent/tap etc. Right handed players usually have extra deficiency to overcome with their left hand so just work it more

  • I really like this pad, and I am considering getting it. However, I've heard a lot that it makes you seem a lot better than you are, and isn't good if you're really trying to improve playing snare. What do you think?

  • @Percush1n how on earth could a pad do that? that's ridiculous. kids these days.

  • hahahah this guy is wearing a vic firth shirt but drumming on a invader v3 hahahaha

  • @nbolay this may sound stupid but why are your sticks like orange near the bottom? All the drum corps i see have em like that but i cant find that model of drumstick...

  • @screamodrummer1234 they are just old Hardimon Indoor sticks

  • @screamodrummer1234 They are only taped on the top half of the stick. The butt end is left bare.

  • @screamodrummer1234 they are not a model. they are taped on the last half to prevent stick damage from rimshots.

  • @screamodrummer1234 the sticks themselves aren't half white half orange themselves, he just taped them half way down the stick with white electric tape

  • @screamodrummer1234 its because drum corps tape their sticks so it wont dent sticks thats why part is orange and part is white

  • @screamodrummer1234 really dude? haha wow. Almost every type of drumline tapes their sticks with this thing called "electric tape" its so the sticks can last a little longer despite the thrashing and rimshotting. im guessing ur new to snare drumming and drum corps.

  • @mexiboii001 not only that but for visual to

  • @screamodrummer1234 its not that theyre orange, the tape on the left stick stops where your hand is supposed to go when youre using traditional grip

  • @screamodrummer1234 the drum sticks have white drum stick tap or white electrical tape on them but only a 3rd of the way.

  • 7 people play with sticks more then they should!! ( they r gay)

  • @dushtinrocks you're a dumbfuck.

  • is there a benefit from holding the stick as it is in his right hand or is it personnal preferance?

  • @imacoollikedat

Habit from eating chinese food, I think.

  • keep your pointer finger on the stick

  • best practice pad ever

  • 0:46 made me lol. great review!

  • is this really worth $69? Thats so expensive for a piece of plastic

  • @csmorgan and rubber LOL

  • thats one nice practice pad. i hope we will have that here... :(

  • stix look like giant camels...

  • How much is this pad?

  • it seems like the rim on the V.3 is not as shiny as the earlier invaders

  • does the sound change with this pad from the edge to center?

  • good rebound

  • just got one ...love it

  • good drumming bro

  • why cant control my left hand to go that fast but i roll really fast can you mesage me

  • that pad looks awesome!!!

  • @ProgenyOfDrums most realistic pad on the market....period.

  • Looks like you're in the nursery of a church.

  • Your way better experienced than me but nice slice;-) haha. just thought i say that....but nice. your good.

  • what sticks are those?

  • just another bored guy......

  • Like the duthart salute at the end :)

  • I think it's kinda loud for a practice pad...

  • @cargodudeMT It's not as loud as a marching snare. And with this pad it's the transfer from pad to drum that counts. I have heard it provides the closest to a snare drum

  • it would sound better if it had beads inside to make it sound like a snare

  • @347826able It's a practice pad... it's to practice rudiments, exercises and so forth. sounds fine how it is.

  • If you have a concert height snare stand can you lower it to be in a sitting height?

  • @thephamcookiemonster not the ones I have, but I'm not sure of other models. I use the Pearl S1000 stands

  • @nbolay what stand would fit a marching snare and fit my height (5'4)

  • @thephamcookiemonster no its made to be waist high

  • @thephamcookiemonster ya i always do it

  • I just got my V3. Man this thing feels so great on my hands. Sounds awesome stacked on top of my old crappy RealFeel.

  • Where did you march dude?

  • @Flammin5s Nite Express D&BC from Cedar Rapids, IA in 1996, and Univ. of NE

  • @nbolay Sweet. I can tell you arent just some college kid showing off his new pad. Great video. I'm getting my V.3 in the mail this coming wednesday.

  • @Flammin5s you are sure to love it, this is the v2 in the vid, but I've had the v3 for almost a year now and it is about the only pad I play anymore.

  • @nbolay Sweet. I hear the customer service is awesome too. I'm happy its monday lol cant wait for it to get here.

  • @nbolay - So you probably know Kris Hartman and Kyle Arwine?

  • @Quadz2k for sure! Marched with Kyle and got my ass kicked (and learned a ton!) by Kris. You must know them too eh?

  • @nbolay - Yeah, Kris seems to do that a lot. LOL. I know them very well. We taught at Revolution in 2001 and 2002.

  • textbook control.

  • were you improving? or is that a cadence? if its a cadence what is it?

  • @jeremelobster it was a bit of improv. with a few cadences crammed together with some scottish drum salute and a bit of a flam exercise

  • im a drummer and that´s good but 0:46 lol!! great job dude. stay rude.

  • paid 80$ for it i c ehh....

  • your drum sticks look like burning cigarettes! haha

  • so true!

  • Did you march for a show band or something? lmao!

  • what sticks are you using?

  • @Stingz Ralph Indoor

  • nice duthart parts toward the end. awesome.

  • you have original style

  • hey so I have my Invader (v3) and I only have one question what is the difference between the v2 and the v3? All I can see is on the v2 the logo is white and the rim is sparkly and on the v3 none of those apply to it

  • v3 is a little larger in diameter, thicker, heavier, and the rim is smooth instead of textured. a little better all around. v2 is nice, but i like my v3 even more

  • Why is your offworld logo on the pad white? when i got mine it was black

  • because you probably have the v3 thats the v2

  • @panthersroc1 his is a v2 v3's are black logo.

  • @panthersroc1 because he was the v2, not the v3

  • @panthersroc1 thats the v2..the v3 isnt white

  • @panthersroc1 v2 or v3?

  • i didnt know Kevin James played the drums

  • question-does this pad come in many different sizes or just one size (f.y.i I mean 6 or 12 inches) and if it only comes in one sixe what is that particular size?

  • Haven't seen the Offworld website lately, but I think it only comes in one size...approx 13" fits nicely on a 14" drum with a little margin around the edge

  • This pad looks awesome. I guess I'll have to buy one. Thanks for the video. Oh, and good left hand grip; I've seen so many drummers lately with poor grip it has made me sick.

  • thanks

  • what kind of sticks are you using

  • V.F. Ralph Indoor

  • HAHA as if the visual (wave) was necessary for trying out the practice pad. Ill admit I do visuals by myself but C'mon man!

  • it's hard to break 13years of habit eh...

  • his sticks look like cigaRETtes

  • Well yeah because he is or was probably in a Drum Corp or did marching band in high school. It's a way to show uniform.

  • nbolay

In your opinion how long do you think it'll take to learn the drums? Beginner to advance. I know its different depending on how much you practice and how quick u learn but whats the time for a person to learn beginner to advance in the fastest time that you've seen and the slowest time? thats my 1st question. and my 2nd is how good is Travis barker in your opinion and how long will it take to be as good as him?

  • dude travis barker is not that great of a drummer. never compare yourself to other drummers just because you hear other people saying that they're good

  • too many variables to put a time estimate on it. there will always be more to learn. As far as other drummers to look up to for inspiration/guidance...I'd put Travis Barker waaaaaay down the list. There are so many great players that dwarf that dude. Some of my favorites are: Garibaldi, Copeland, Rich, Krupa, Morello, Smith (rhcp), Weckl, Gadd, Vinny C, Bozzio, Jimbo, Erskine, Chambers, Chapin, Morgenstein, Sexton, Katche, Roach...on and on...

  • theres always going to be some one better than u no matter wat thats the best advice ive ever gotten bisides seting high goals n practicing .

  • Ummm it would take about a week of proper instruction to be as good as Travis Barker.

  • WOW - that's a naive statement.

  • At marching snare.

    Clear enough?

  • nbolay

U just play like marching band and stuff???

or do you play the kit as well???

In your opinion do all good drummer behind the kit

    have skills on the pad??

  • i play kit a bit too...rudimental skills apply to the kit, but kit skills don't always translate to the pad/snare, my opinion

  • Invader V3 FTW

  • Mike McIntosh stick v.s Jim Casselas drum stick witch is better?

  • jim casselas feel much like ralph hardimons. Mike Mcintosh feel like hollow scojos. if you understand what all that means. lol

  • I never had a marching stick because they don't sell it here but now I'm buying on the web so... yeh I only understand the hollow one.

  • Wait, your only like 12 right? Get a pair of DC52s or Ralph Hardimon Jrs.

  • ye but is Mike McIntoshi's to big or what?

  • I prefer the MACs but I'm bias, since he was without doubt the best instructor I got to play for.

  • Where'd you get the pad? I want one!

  • and those hq brands are terrific i love it.thats an oppinion to those who are looking for a pad

  • I disagree. Im and HQ owner and I dont really like them. The gray side is too..idk..bouncy...and the other side is hard to play on..plus no rim. Of course..thats my opinion.

  • just ordered one. hasnt come yet though

  • so you just order it off that website?

  • yep

  • the v3 pad has a imprinted logo on it, the v2 is a white printed offworld pad.

  • I cant decide wether to get the v3 or the aquarian pad. comments???? i play in symphonic band if that helps.

  • I say invader. I just got mine today and it feels so goooood.

  • aquarian pad is a really really cheap pad, get the v3 waayyyyy better

  • queen precision pad is pretty nice too, i am very satisfied

  • V3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!for the best

  • I had the aquarius pad..it sucks.

  • Your logo is white but mine is just imprinted... wonder why

  • u prolly have the newer one

  • it is the older V2 pad. V3 is all black with imprint logo

  • how do the sticks hold up to the rim shots on this pad? do they tear up the stick just as bad as a normal drum does?

  • the rim will leave minor dents in sticks...but they don't splinter or break. I play pads with un-taped sticks and they hold up fine

  • where can i get one of those??

  • from the internet or a specialty drum shop

  • offworld percussion

  • U can totally tell ur an old school DCI drummer who has lost some of his chops I still want to be drummin wen im ur age

  • i remember people would always say to me "your pad sucks. why? it has a rim."

now the invader comes out and people love the idea of a rim
