when the misfits came around, there werent a bunch of bands like them except maybe the bad brains and some of the old hardcore bands. their music was not made to be radio listener friendly or marketable. bands would play gigs that were often illegal and the stage names were used to protect the band members. things came from necessity rather than a want of money and fame. A7X should never be mentioned in the same sentence with the misfits. its like comparing slick rick to mike jones.

yeah a7x started out on the bottom but ultimately rode an explosion of metal in the hardcore scene in the late 90's (blame hatebreed and poison the well(it should be mentioned that while the breed may have cashed in, they never really sold out.) and once getting noticed/signed/bought by a bigger label, changed their sound to be more digestible/marketable/poppy.
