No, we have not had any experiences of anyone getting stung. You just want to stay away from their tales and make sure you do not step on one that is sleeping as they tend to bury themselves in the sand. They are very friendly and just swim around you, especially if they smell that you have their favorite foods: conch and squid. They will just eat it right out of your hand. Their skin feels smooth and their mouth is like a suction and you don't feel any teeth at all. It's lots of fun!
