I've always said Barbara was the best female lead AS ever had (no disrespect to the talented Sharon Bryant). She has a very smooth, pure, yet very soulful voice. And, of course, she is beautiful! Very underrated talent and singer!!!

She was always my fav female artist in Atlantic Star, so beautiful with talent to match. Watch what happens at 2:29 LMBO!!! I know she's thinking "Danm BET yall need to get the audio in order before I sing....Damn!" This was actually when BET had value hence the messed up audio which became BET's signature at one point...until VIACOM bought them then the audio/production improved...sad sad sad.

I thought she was awesome with A.S. Whatever happened to her? I lost track of her after her first solo album. She was not only beautiful but she can SANG too! A.S. sort of lost the magic when they lost Barbara.

@Vincent50 She also did a second album, which was only released in Japan. But I recommend it. It's called 'Seeing for the Very First Time'! And I agree about the magic being somewhat lost after her departure. Although I will say there were some very solid tunes on the 'Love Crazy' album, the overall "group dynamic" was not the same.

BET lost it when they dropped Video Soul. I always enjoyed how Donnie, Sherri and Angela presented the music, the artists and themselves. It's not a matter of "generations" but of how things were done then. How a beautiful singer like Barbara sang a song she enjoyed rather than an old hit shows this. BET, we couldn't even get you in our homes at first, we know BJ sold you but man - who knew it would be like this? You have taken us and our love for this era of music for granted.
