  • How much for a copy of that LoFi Master's CD?

  • @guitarmasterjvc - Thanks for your reply...of course! I should have realized it's Clay Cook.

  • gorgeous version of this song. I wonder who's playing & singing with him? Early on he had that gorgeous liquid velvet voice & superb ability on the guitar. Thank you for posting this beautiful audio.

  • @Mimimph its probs clay cook_the only other dude in lo-fis

  • @Mimimph Clay Cook, the other part of the Lo-Fi Masters. He actually played and created the guitar parts for Victoria, Comfortable, and this one. They recorded this at Berklee in the studios there with Matt Mangano on bass and another student on drums.

  • sounds like dave matthewskind of style

in it sounds live dave singing the back vocal

  • reminds me of winter

  • Anyone know if the lyrics are written anywhere? JM always uses so many paradoxical lyrics, similar to the title of this song. It's kind of his M.O..

  • this is such a soothing song..dang...love love it

  • This was a track from the original LoFi Masters EP. I actually found the CD in a box recently. The disc itself says "LoFi Masters" in Sharpie, and the tracklist is on a white sticker placed on the plastic CD case..

  • @itsruss

    i want.

  • any idea which year it was?

  • Reminds me a lot of DMB. I know Dave was a big influence to John.

  • I absolutely love this! Makes me want to be at an outdoor JM concert right now.

  • This is so typically pre-Inside Wants Out-John Mayer. I love it!

  • Hear Jordan freak out at the end of the song !:-)

  • this is so long before Stevie Jordan, this is even before JJ Johnson...

  • i love what this song is about. Being a determined, struggling musician.

  • The beginning sounds like the background soundtrack to The O.C.. Great song though.

  • I found this song about 5 years ago on Limewire, and then I lost it once I deleted the program. Thanks for posting!

  • This is from the band, Villanova Junction

  • By, John Mayer.

  • I though it was Lo-Fi Masters or something?

  • No, it's a Lo-Fi Masters demo.

  • when was this recorded? before or after continuum?

  • this song was recorded wayyy back in the 'lo-fi masters' days with clay cook probably in 98' or 99' or something in there...

  • wayyy before continuum

  • its bit like "comfortable"

  • thats what i thought

  • Exactly, and the begining drums is like waiting on the world to change.

  • No it's not :) @raphaed77

    The chords basic set maybe...

  • Some Sting/Police influences in there or is it just me?

  • sounds like it

  • sounds pretty good man

  • Omg ive benn looking for this forever would you plz send me the mp3

  • Wow! Now we know that the master once performed in Eddie's Attic, wherever that may be.

    Really nice sound though.

  • Its in Decatur, Georgia. I went there a few months ago. Its like a hidden place. Its really cool.

  • Not once. John Mayer played there often.

  • When I first downloaded this song about 5 years ago . . . I listened to it nearly every day for a month. What an awesome song and I've always thought that it should've been put on IWO or something. Give Clay Cook some credit too.

Finally, I'm going to put up a live solo acoustic version that John did wayyyy back in the day.

  • Sounds great!
