They are there to defend their members...just as a defense attorney would do in a criminal case. The union denies defense once a crime is found to be true. According to Officer John Baird, Captain Edward Spangler, and dozens of other policemen convicted in federal court, the entire Philadelphia Police Department routinely robs, extorts, tortures, perjures, frames, and otherwise feloniously victimizes the taxpaying citizens who pay their salaries, or at least covers up for cops who do. Extrapolating, using the Philadelphia Police Department's own statistics, 4.8% of cops will be arrested. Further, a large study evidenced that only 8% of police crimes will result in an arrest. Using the aforementioned set of data, assuming a proportional distribution of crimes committed by cops arrested and those not, one could logically conclude that 60% of cops are criminals. That percentage is probably 100% if conspiracy and aggravated perjury are counted (re: the blue wall of silence.)

As it is now even senior citizens like myself who never had a prob. with the law are starting to despise them. I never thought much about this matter until I saw the videos and stories on here. @CorruptPhillyCops Why should we blame the police union? When someone gets arrested for a crime...they are presumed innocent until guilty correct? They are there to defend their members...just as a defense attorney would do in a criminal case. The union denies defense once a crime is found to be true. If you want regular people to be defended for crimes that you claim to be false,then the officers should be afforded that same defense.

What will happen if the very entity created to execute justice is injust in itself? Not only is that hypocrital, justice would be completely undermined. No justice, no righteousness.

However, the entire system of justice is compromised if there is an inkling of police misconduct. Condoning such things will only propagate a system based on injustice.
