@POTRADS - Yes, they deserved it. The problem with your story is that there would have been no "savings" for them to give, since liberals can't save unless they hand the money over to gov't to save for them.
As you describe them as "idle farm animals", they have no wealth of their own, not even savings, therefore any "savings" they have (even if the gov't saved it for them) must have originated with a little red hen, anyway.
PBS should start teaching this tale again, instead of airing Barney singing "The More We Get Together." Looking back, I realize that that story is what made socialism strike such a dissident chord with my thinking when I first learned about it.

We have been fools. The U.S.F.C.A. is private... makes sense, since NOTHING they do is for the better of the US Nationals here, only the corps...

The modern little red hen came back to the idle farm neighbors with another great idea.
She asked them, "OK, so you all want delicious backed bread, right?"
"Yes," they replied.
"Well, give me all your savings and we'll have the biggest, best bread factory in town," she exclaimed.
The idle farm animals gave her all their savings since she was so clever.
But this was nothing but a ponzi scheme, leaving all the idle farm animals destitute.
I'm sure you, like Reagan all agree - they deserved it.
