  • "The one you're going to want to get is x86"

    I lol'd

edit) what I mean is that you're telling everyone they have an intel processor.

  • @JonWillis9 x86 doesn't mean it's an Intel processor, x86 is 32-bit OS

    x64 is 64-bit OS version

  • @xenover it seems we are both wrong. "The term x86 refers to a family of instruction set architectures[2] based on the Intel 8086 CPU". So x86 is usually referring to intel cpus, but other manufacturers have made compatible hardware. What I was trying to point out is that the OP was making some assumptions.

  • @JonWillis9 Well, okay then

  • "The one you're going to want to get is x86"

    I lol'd

  • Root your phone and use ShootMe. Super easy.

  • do u have have to have a usb in order for it to work though... ?????? come on...

  • Hi, which product did you use for making this video?

  • @nutella61 camstudio i think..

  • This is such crap. Why doesn't Android have this built in like an iPhone? On my old iPhone all I had to do with click two buttons. BS.

  • @TacticalKarma cuz nobody created it for android yet

  • @TacticalKarma Actually I have a Galaxy S5660 (runs on Android), and all I had to do was press the middle softkey while holding the Back key and BAM, screen captured.

  • @2007excalibur2007 well must be nice..

  • @TacticalKarma >implying iPhone has a built in screen recorder

  • @TacticalKarma it has but you dont know it... back button and center

  • Thanks alot!

  • Isn't quite working on my Samsung Moment. I had an update for it to and I flashed my phone and updated it and it still won't work. So if you could help me it would be nice.

  • Extremely useful !

  • Took awhile to get to the action. YOu should split up installing the Android SDK from the screen shot. I already have the SDK and don't want all the wintendo information. (I'm on Ubuntu.)

    Otherwise very good, thanks!

  • @PerfectReign I'm also on Ubuntu, i did not get it to work. I installed and everything but when i open the ddms it shoes a device name as questions marks symbols (??????????), and screen capture is not available. what am i doing wrong? can you help me?

  • it doesnt install it says hardware was not installed correctly sofware was not found etc etc..

  • dude you are not lazy! you ask to help. thats awsome!

  • Really good tutorial but since it's out of date, do the community a favor and remove it.

  • Google changed the SDK install process, so you have to select the version of Android you want to work with, and then be sure to include the USB_driver in the install, and then your instructions work like a CHARM! Thanks so much!

  • Very helpful! Thank you!

  • Really helpful! Thanks!

  • try using debut video capture software!!it records in hd too!!!!

  • the new version of Android SDK doesn't have the usb_driver folder =[

  • @mrsvolcom you have to do the SDK setup.exe

    its in the android-sdk-windows folder

  • how do you record wats on ur phones screen?

  • which programm did you use to record your Desktop Screen?

  • Really good video. Thanks for taking the time to make it.

  • Does this work on Vista? The ddms doesn't work for me either.

  • The problem is that Vista (being Vista) automatically reinstalls the default driver for the G1 when you try to replace it with the SDK driver. Fix below:

    Unplug phone.

Google for USBDeview and run it.

In the list of USB drivers you will see references to "Android Phone": right click and uninstall each one.

On your phone, make sure you enable USB debugging in Settings -> Applications -> Development

Plug the phone back in and it should ask for a driver. Point it at the one in the SDK.

  • the ddms batch file won't load up on my computer, any ideas?

  • You need to install java

  • So that how you take screenshots..but how would you record a video, like you did with your aHome theme install tutorial? I assume its a similar method using the SDK, could you show us how to do it? thanks

  • I am not getting the "found new hardware wizard" prompt, after choosing "USB debugging" in phone settings.

    =(
