I loved this guy, forgot he passed away until I was rooting against Ethier to beat his consecutive hits record. I think Willie robbed him on that 31st day (lol). RIP Willie D!

I remember seeing him in center filed with my dad, his work friends and theirs kids. I used to always sit in the left field bleachers. Being a RHS alumni myself, I also feel a bit of sorrow for the loss, but a sense of happiness for his gift.

Willie is the only player in LA Dodgers history to achieve 2000 or more hits, his 31 game hitting streak is still untouched after 40 years, 110 triples as a Dodger, 321 doubles, 154 home runs, 849 rbi's, 1004 runs...WILLIE IS the greatest Dodger Centerfielder in LA history!!! And my favorite all-time player...when they traded him as mentioned for Mike Marshall in 1973, it nearly wrecked my whole perception of Sports...I didn't root for the Dodgers again until 1980...

Willie was my first favorite player when I was a kid....I was crushed when he was traded to Montreal for Mike Marshall...Actually cried :-) Any chance you can get him to send me an autographed pic? If not, no worries....just let him know that he has a big fan living in NorCal. Peace

hey willie davis is a good friend of mine. i see him everyday and on weekends we go golfing
