@greetenmax Because Australia has also ordered F-35's (which are insanely expensive). So I think they want a more diversified fleet.
And this is the plane that got owned in Independence Day? Really tells you a lot about how good those alien ships were :P

That touch n go was something else! He literelly bounced from landing to take off. Not sure if it was the wind or just a good demonstration of the aircraft performance.

"100% Pitch authority" at work.
Unlike the F-18A/C, No manual backups installed to cause contol surface limitations.
For emergency flight control failures, there is some kind of
"get home" mode that allows just enough control to attempt returning to base.
