  • people do the exact opposite in the ghetto you always hear about them saying "i keep on in the chamber, never on safety, driving with my finger on the trigger" lol

  • i sort of obey these for my rifle i have to keep the barrel strait up then remove mag open bolt check its unloaded then pull the trigger to remove the bolt untill then i will not hand the gun to another

  • To be honest if u didn't know this then you shouldn't really own a gun or even touch a gun!

  • gun safety is MY responsability?! who does he think he is making that asumption.

what if youdont have any arms? should you shove a toe in the chamber to check it?

  • nice... great videoooo!

  • i got a acronem. P,R,O,V,E

    Point in safest direction

    Remove all amunition

    Observe the firearm is empty

    Verify the firearm is empty

Examin the action and barrle for obstruction

  • lets say you have a pump shotgun and pump it back to make sure its unloaded. ok it is. so you pump it back forward. is it ok to pull the trigger and just let it click?

  • @slowride55 No, you should leave the bolt in the back position until you are ready to load and shoot. You definitely don't want to rack the slide forward and pull the trigger (dry fire) because even though you have checked to ensure it was empty, you are teaching yourself a bad habit which one day might catch up with you. Remember this: Once the gun fires, there's no taking back the shot.

Stay alive, stay out of prison, stay safe.

  • @watchdog68 you can close the bolt but not lock it in place as bolt actions have a jamming system in them if the bolts not locked in with its handle the firing pin cant move also another good hint count your rounds

  • @blueeyesseto You would be trusting your life (or the lives of others) to some mechanical device, or position of the bolt. That does not sound safe at all. Consider that some guns may fire if a bolt is not locked into position due to age, mechanical wear and/or defect(s), or because someone who owned the gun before you years ago decided to alter some of the internal parts.

REWORDING: I should let slowride know that if he points the gun in a safe direction and dry fires, that would be okay.

  • @watchdog68 but i have been taught not to lock the bolt handle till im about to take the shot so till im aimed up i dont close the bolt also i was taught with the ruger M77 rifle with a 3 point safty but my dad taught me one thing DON'T TRUST MECHANICAL SAFETY THE ONLY TIME THIS RIFLE IS SAFE IS IF THE BOLT IS REMOVED

  • @slowride55 It's called "dry firing" which means pulling the trigger when there is no ammunition chambered in the gun. And even though it may look harmless you can break the firing pin if you do that continuously . So don't make a habit out of it.

    Fun shooting.

  • @kagi95 ok thx

  • @slowride55 hell no dont close the slide if u dont intead to shoot one of the first things i was ever taught if u dont intead to shoot dont close the action
