Can someone answer this for me - was John McCain involved with the Keating 5 or was he an actual member of the Keating 5 ? Or is there some middle area?

McCain was also the one who was personally closest to Keating. And his wife and her father were very close to Keating.

"After a lengthy investigation, the Senate Ethics Committee determined in 1991 that , Alan Cranston (D-CA), Dennis DeConcini (D-AZ), and Donald W. Riegle (D-MI),had substantially and improperly interfered with the FHLBB in its investigation of Lincoln Savings. Senators John Glenn (D-OH), and John McCain (R-AZ) were cleared of having acted improperly but were criticized for having exercised "poor judgment"."

Wrong, I used to work for the agency FHLB which later become OTS. Yes, it is true, Keating had 5 Senators, McCain, Gleen, DeConcini, Cranston and Reigle to come to get the Regulars off his back. McCain started the meeting with the Examiner In Charge (EIC) by saying that he was representing his constituent. McCain's campaign had received over $110,000from Keating.

Wow! I could listen to McCain for hours, he is such a great articulater, oritor, well just a damn great speaker. I can't wait to rush home from work to here the State of the Union address. JK What ever happen to the guy who was able to pick-up his first model wife, who by the way was disfigured in an accident, and his second model wife who he picked-up while still married to? you guessed it wife number one.
