That tone sounds a little odd from the Marshall for the first few minutes. Did you back off the tone a good bit there? I have a'79 Superlead (MkII non master) which sounds a lot brighter. I was surprised by this tone - doesn't sound as much like the master volume models as I'm used to.
This amp has a real creamy tone to it...whether it's the Mullard tubes all the way across or the vid. camera compression or a little bit of both...I'm not sure.....but it was on fairly low volume. Tone controls were all the way up. Thanks for listening!!
Damn compression! Yeah it was most likely that. I'll have to get some of my videos up for sound comparison (maybe we won't compare my playing to your though ;) )
Thanks again for the videos, I'm a regular viewer.
your tone sounds alot like Page just with less overdrive. Pickups are probably help it out quite abit to. How much did those pups improve your LP and Tone.
Skydogg! man that les paul and MArshall sound amazing in your hands check out my SOULFul Shred if u have time tell me what u think! keep playing that blues!
Your Blues style rocks. I hope to one day be able to emulate it with my Les Paul. Any suggestions as to other blues CDs on par with A Hard Road and the Beano album?
I heard a bunch of great melodies in there
DB's solo from You Don't Love Me
Clapton's / BluesBreakers version of Hideaway
Ted's Stranglehold
Allman's Hot 'Lanta
as well as a great many Led Zeppelin songs
