There are clear traces of polytheism in the OT. At first Yaweh was a tribal god with some unique characteristics. The OT authors took care to portray him as superior to foreign gods. The Exodus wasn't so much about freeing the slaves as showing that Yahweh was more powerful the Pharoah. So Yahweh manipulates Pharoah's mind to prove a point, rather than sparing thousands of lives.

I grew up as a Christian and went to Church every Sunday and fully believed that God was real and Jesus was my savior, but then I woke up and realized it's all bullshit. @7archers Jesus is not the reason for the season. In addition to the facts I recently cited, IF there was a Jesus, he was probably not born in the winter. Christmas came from a pagan celebration. It was adopted as a compromise to get more people to claim to be Christians. Initially, it was hardly even modified but changed over time & only recently became what people now assume it always was.

That's what happened once when I prayed for a child with a permanent lung disease and his healing had to be declared a miracle by the doctors. The father would no longer have anything to do with me. @lou4ii Atheism needing a temple is a retarded concept also. People that don't believe in Santa Claus don't need a temple. Well of course the people that don't believe in Santa don't have Santa Claus believers trying to force their values upon others. Santa believers don't make up 78.4% of the population and elected officials do not need to Santa believers to be viable. Christianity isn't a religion and doesn't fight for political power? @auroraman56 yeah aurora, looks like that prayer won't work, seems more like what one of the Church pagan infiltrators would say, which their god, the Devil, doesn't mind them doing since it's counted as blasphemy. Try this one: "Dear Jesus, if You're real, please show me."
you can party now, but for you this is the best of hell. for us, it's the worst of Heaven. Just remember God speaks with a still, small voice. If you're really trying to hear Him, you should kinda step away from the riot.

@lou4ii I've tried that prayer MANY times before. I grew up as a Christian and went to Church every Sunday and fully believed that God was real and Jesus was my savior, but then I woke up and realized it's all bullshit. So thanks for the advice, but I was trying that one for about 14 years, and it didn't do anything. So thanks, but I think I've grown out of the fairy tales. Have fun with yours though. Maybe someday you'll hear the small, still voice of reality someday.

@3:25 Has anyone calculated the killings by and for Yaweh as a percentage of population at the time, then compared that to the killings in the 20th century as a percentage of population at that time? Just as we adjust for inflation when we speak of how much a loaf of bread cost in 1945 as compared to today, the numbers of killings in the christian bible that are attributed to Yahweh should also be adjusted to reflect percentage of population at the time they purportedly took place.
