  • far cry 2 its not the same story and not the same game :(

  • cryengine+source engine=my computer exploding

  • guys FARCRY 3 was announced just recently

  • @Scavenger277 what engine will it use?

  • @95928225 it will be usin Cryengine 3

  • @Scavenger277 no it won't. it will use a heavily modified version of the Dunia engine, which ran far cry 2.

  • @lhilkid i dough it, but will c anyway, but i still think it will be cryengine 3 though

  • Farcry is one of the best games ever created

  • EXTREME APPLICATION PROGRAMMING INTERFACE!

  • hahahaha its graphics reminds me of the old times where people actually ignore graphics in a game!

  • Pioneers of Game Engines

  • For an 8 year old engine, this thing has amazing graphics, destroys even a lot of todays engines. Especially useful if your PC has kinda crappy specs.

  • I can so picture super Mario 64 on this lol

  • Amazing. Too bad Far Cry 2 sucked so bad...that's ubisoft for you.

To me, Crysis was the true sequel to Far Cry. Just think as Jack in the nano suit :P

  • from where can I download a Cryengine

  • @SPIFO131 The CryENGINE 1 is that used by the game Far Cry 1 (CryTek). A map editor called Sandbox comes with the game as Crysis uses the CryENGINE 2 and soon with Crysis 2, whit CryENGINE 3. ;)

  • @DidjayOne Cryengine 3 isn't as good as cryengine 2.

  • @SPIFO131 -__- where else but the crytek site.

  • even now some of these things are not seen in other engines (srs)

  • this looks like something that could easily be done in unity

  • back then everyone was like HOLY SHIT DYNAMIC LIGHTING

  • looks kinda like starcraft 2 on low settings...

  • @MASTURCHEEF001 Of course it does, it's an engine released in the 2004.

  • @RaZoRFinnish yah i know but this was AMAZING for that time.

  • @RaZoRFinnish not 2004.. 2003.. game was out in 2004 but engine in 2003

  • this vs ce 3

  • source is better

  • @RawrNinjaBurgers lol, you dont get that awesome mapping tool in source do you? lol

source is better in many ways, but cry engine 1 is better in many ways O_O

  • @BIRDZ599 source is better and of cource source 2011 will be better than cry engine 3

  • @RawrNinjaBurgers In my opinion CryEngine lacks the kind of physics that the Source engine has; but the Cryengine excels more in graphics, it's own kind of physics and is far more advance.

  • @RawrNinjaBurgers Dude, what are you smoking ? Seriously, CE 3 is like 2 or 3 years in advance on his time, like CE 2 was 4 or 5 years. What you see in Crysis is just a sample of the Engine.

For Crysis 1, CE 2 was used at maximum like 20 or 30 % of the engine, how can you imagine source engine fuck up with this ?

  • @Snakeof34 source is better

  • @RawrNinjaBurgers

WTF man, look at this, how can you still say Source is better ?!

    htt p:/ /bi t. ly/bVdKrv

  • @Snakeof34 like this!

    source is better

  • @RawrNinjaBurgers Have watched my link ?

    Obvious troll is obvious.

  • @Snakeof34 is saying my opinion is trolling?

  • @RawrNinjaBurgers Not arguing it makes you trolling, it's juste IMPOSSIBLE to do what you see in my link below, with the Source Engine

  • @Snakeof34 CE1 crappier than source

    source is crappier than CE2

  • @RawrNinjaBurgers I'm better ok with this

  • @RawrNinjaBurgers I'm better ok with this

  • my god that looks amazing......

  • Too weak.

  • Cryengine wii

  • Realistic physics :p Did you see the light move :D

    HAhaha, good ol' days !!

  • @FreezeProduct to this day few games support dynamic SHADOWS though and they already had them in far cry, 2004. hl2 was also released that year, yet the source engine - including hl2 per update - first got dynamic shadows when someone made them for l4d which was in 2008 or something, right? now find dynamic shadows in an unreal engine 3 console game. it's still a rare feature many developers avoid like a disease.

  • @SuckItLily That's because not many games feature deferred rendering instead of usual multipass(!) forward rendering.

  • Agree.

Far Cry was the game that started it all...

    long live Far Cry!

  • actually, it was goldeneye

  • @brotherofhumanity yes long live farcry but wtf was farcry 2 that wasnt even farcry that was just some game they wanted to sell n dissapoint people with.

  • @kamjam21xx You`re right. Ubisoft has marketed Far Cry 2 as the true sequel to Far Cry, though the sequel has very few noticeable similarities to the original game.I think Ubisoft wanted to make a good looking game that could compete with Crysis. And they did it.

  • @brotherofhumanity im not sure i would say it competes with crysis metro 2033 competes with crysis

  • @brotherofhumanity ikr, we should hail to far cry that made cryengine into cryengine 3 =)

  • @brotherofhumanity nope the game that started all was wolfenstein 3d if it haden't been for wolfenstein 3d fps game may have not existed

  • @gastongurka I ment that Far Cry was the game that started all that graphic beauty

  • @brotherofhumanity but tha is still noth true the first beutiful good working shoot 'em upp game is and will always be wolfenstein 3d you can say what ever but it won't change the truth if you ask someone that is older than like 10 years they will say taht the first and best game was wolfenstein 3d

  • @gastongurka You don`t get it, do you? Crysis is a succesor of Far Cry and Crysis 2 is a sucessor of Crysis. What I Really ment with my first comment was that without Far Cry it wouldn`t have been any Crysis and Crysis 2.

  • @gastongurka To me, it was Ultima Underworld: Stygian Abyss. It was released before Wolf3D and had more advanced tech. Carmack even said that Wolf3D engine was inspired by a technology demo of Ultima Underworld.
