Seriously, nick a. ridiculous ass heel toe mad props is it still worth trying if you don't trigger? (will i still get power like singles or will it sound completely different?) b. more tribal based polyrythms plz(i know you can bring the noise) bring out the 5, and 7s the 4/4 permutations are the new pig squeel, so sad.

@dazeinband There will be a new vid released soon with lots of tribal action. The heel toe is a must when it comes to speed and power. It takes work to even out the doubles to sound like singles but the power is intense especially if youre using a Tama Speed Cobra. I cant achieve that amount of power on other pedals.

That double bass technique is so lazy, yet so fast. It almost makes me wish i could play trad grip just so i can get the feel of your songs. But alas, i am left-handed on a right handed kit, and my kit is set up for my blend of open and crossed playing.

I wonder, how long did it take you to finally finish your drum set-up? How many weeks/months of tweaking did it take?

@Jaythedrummerman heal toe actually uses alot of leg muscles, try doing it for more than 5 mins straight and your legs will be burning.

Thats very creative of you technique wise using heel toe. You tend to be quite busy up top in sections where you play up tempo double bass and that makes a lot of sense to me only having to worry about small muscle movements instead of large muscle movements. Leaves some room in your brain to worry about compostion haha. You are one of the more tasteful metal drummers i have heard.  Well done Nick and my hats off to your producer too.

Respond to this video...The kick is triggered the rest of the kit was sampled then mixed and mastered to sound like that. Everything is not triggered.

@blastbeatshaman Sampled = using other sounds than the ones recorded and with a very hard velocity, probably harder than you hit?

If so I definitely think that it's very similar to triggering/soundreplacing. It's the same thing you are after. I do it myself but I think it's easier to use triggermics so that the information gets converted directly to midi so that you can sample without using converters like drumtracker.

@morbida My kit was sampled with different velocities and then those samples were used in the mix. The snare and kick were sampled from mine and other drums. The way Aaron did it preserved the dynamics where they were needed especially with snare stuff. I personally like to use my own samples to get my style in the mix. Trigger mics are useful for certain applications but I'm picky and like more natural dynamic when possible lol
