Sambo came from Judo, Judo from Ju Jutsu, Ju Jutsu from Chinese martial arts(including Shaui Chiao)

in a real martial art u use everything, the whole body, Hand work(fist, finger, palm, claws) arm work(forearm, elbows even shoulders) Leg and Knee used to kick, grap, blocks etc and of course u must know throwings, takedowns etc and the last and more important thing ur Brain

lol I can not understand why these asian martial arts are this popular :D

I m learning combat sambo at the moment and its much more effective than that - no stupid dancing like in tkd :D pure effectiveness
