Picking individual versus when we already have the scientific knowledge is relatively easy, because they can be interpreted to fit what we know, and false statements can be called "metaphor". The history of the knowledge of orbits can be tracked, and it clearly did not come from anyones religious writings. It came from observations and mathematics.
Oh, and, my beliefs do not make my life easy. Trust me.

@amirzubairmughal To point out the cherry picking, the Quran also describes the sun "reached the setting-place of the Sun, he found it going down into a muddy spring". Or the verse that describes the moon having a mansion as a resting place. Those claims about the moon and sun don't match science, so they are either ignored or interpreted to be figurative. Since you already believe the Quran, you have what is known as "confirmation bias".

36:39 seems to have a LOT of different interpretations, so let's ignore that one. Every interpretation I have seen of 18:86 is talking about the PLACE that the sun sets into muddy spring or murky water. That isn't accurate. Does that show that the book is flawed, or with the benefit of our scientific knowledge do you just assume that verse to be figurative?

You are then using other versus which could equally be deemed narrative but not literal to prove the Quran is the truth. @xakervu The world isn't fair. But, because we have defined certain immoral acts to be illegal, there is justice for some. And immoral acts that aren't illegal often lead to social consequences (mean people aren't treated as well as nice people).
I see no reason to believe that there is some kind of justice ingrained in the universe on a grand scale. If we want a moral society, we have to work for that together.

@xakervu I don't judge Islam as a terrorist or inhumane religion. I also don't claim there is no god , just that I lack a belief in a god due to lack of evidence(strong vs weak atheism) . There is simply not enough time in my life to immerse myself into every claim, theistic or otherwise. I have researched the major claims of Islam, and I do not find sufficient evidence to continue. Closest you got to even opening my mind was the bit about creating all living things from water, since abiogenesis hypothesizes that life started in the ocean. But then I remembered how young Islam is and how many other religions and pagan beliefs believe that water is life, or that water spawned life.
I'm not converted, I really didn't like the 'we will test you with trial' part at the end. It sounds really negative in my opinion and kind of tells you not to enjoy life as you're worried about what someone else might think or do (in this case a 'higher being').

Picking individual versus when we already have the scientific knowledge is relatively easy, because they can be interpreted to fit what we know, and false statements can be called "metaphor". The history of the knowledge of orbits can be tracked, and it clearly did not come from anyones religious writings. It came from observations and mathematics.

Or the verse that describes the moon having a mansion as a resting place. Those claims about the moon and sun don't match science, so they are either ignored or interpreted to be figurative. Since you already believe the Quran, you have what is known as "confirmation bias".

36:39 seems to have a LOT of different interpretations, so let's ignore that one. Every interpretation I have seen of 18:86 is talking about the PLACE that the sun sets into muddy spring or murky water. That isn't accurate. Does that show that the book is flawed, or with the benefit of our scientific knowledge do you just assume that verse to be figurative?

You are then using other versus which could equally be deemed narrative but not literal to prove the Quran is the truth. @xakervu The world isn't fair. But, because we have defined certain immoral acts to be illegal, there is justice for some. And immoral acts that aren't illegal often lead to social consequences (mean people aren't treated as well as nice people).
I see no reason to believe that there is some kind of justice ingrained in the universe on a grand scale. If we want a moral society, we have to work for that together.

@xakervu I don't judge Islam as a terrorist or inhumane religion. I also don't claim there is no god , just that I lack a belief in a god due to lack of evidence(strong vs weak atheism) . There is simply not enough time in my life to immerse myself into every claim, theistic or otherwise. I have researched the major claims of Islam, and I do not find sufficient evidence to continue. If you can provide me with a rational argument for Islam, I will gladly put more time into learning it. Thanks

Quran claims that Muhammad (pbuh) is mentioned in other scriptures as well. If we read Bible we find
"And the book is delivered to him that is not learned. Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned.ISAIAH29:12."

You cannot see him because you are an object, (not a Creator). And you are not suppose to see him and this is the point; if you see him you will surely believe while Allah wants you to believe out of love, not out of fear. In fact the entire Muslim faith is based on believing of the unseen, we simply believe in him by seeing his creatures such as the Sun, The Moon and the other planets….to start with.

I am a human being with a limited life-span, much of which is spent sleeping, eating and working. That is not possible, not even for you. It would probably take several lifetimes to do in-depth research on every religion that has ever existed. It is down to an extremely small minority of people ie. the world leaders, (presidents, prime-ministers, Kings/Queens etc) and how much aid they are willing to send. It is hardly the 'whole world' that this malevolent manical bully is likely to be testing, if it exists.

Closest you got to even opening my mind was the bit about creating all living things from water, since abiogenesis hypothesizes that life started in the ocean. But then I remembered how young Islam is and how many other religions and pagan beliefs believe that water is life, or that water spawned life.

I'm not converted, I really didn't like the 'we will test you with trial' part at the end. It sounds really negative in my opinion and kind of tells you not to enjoy life as you're worried about what someone else might think or do (in this case a 'higher being').

At the time of no science, The Quran is the direct words of god that is how it has so many scientific, mathematical & linguistic miracles. At things science is discovering now, was already in the Quran many years before.
