  • I remember watching this as a child on TV and I remember crying because I loved it so much.

  • 10 people were never on a magic carpet ride.

  • Man they should've used the original background music for this performance.

  • I like version with the black singers better lol

  • i would love to have experienced this! i love love love this song!

  • Actually, this is not the 1992 oscars. Disney had Beauty and the Beast in the running in 92, seeing as it came out in 1991, making it a contender for the 92 awards. Subsequently, Aladdin, which came out in 1992, would have been a contender for the 1993 awards. That is how it works.

  • BEST PART OF THE OSCAR !!!

  • wow!

  • i love this song!

    it is so beautiful!

  • The OSCARS gave a wonderful treat by nominating Disney Songs and including performances such as this in the Best Song Categories. From Beauty and the Beast and it stopped to Tarzan. I was wondering why they where not able to nominate Mulan for best song in the academy.

  • Uh...because the Mulan songs weren't good enough? You make it sound liek teh Academy just magically started giving out acclaim to Disney songs for no reason...like going through a phase or something.

  • it is sooooo beautiful!

  • they both sound so perfect they did an awsome job!

  • Lea Salonga's voice is so pure and clear! No wonder she got to sing this song as Jasmine in the movie (and "Reflections" in "Mulan", too!). She was also the first Asian to play Eponine in Broadway's "Les Miserable." And of course there's "Miss Saigon" -- she was the very first (and the most famous) to play the title role. Applause!

  • ms.. lea salonga is a filipino.. that;s why we proud of her..

  • its an amazing whole new world!

  • Brad = Hot

  • i love Brad's voice.

  • WOW! This is grand and simply beautiful!

They should make Oscars like this these days =O

  • Lea Salonga is a role model in the Philippines. I love her!

  • Beautiful!

  • Estos son los oscars de 1993. no de 1992. Saludos.

  • Si, pero premian a lo mejor del 92.

  • brad sounds so flat and off-key on some notes and his voice is being overpowered by lea.

  • mebe hes lipsynching

  • He is.

  • really...

  • Yeah, he said so in an interview.

  • wish i could do a handstand too.

  • mabuhay c lea .. so proud of you gurl

  • at last i was able to remember searching for this vid. it's been a long overdue-- Ms. Lea really makes me proud as a Filipino. Mabuhay ang mga Pilipino!!!

  • this as amazing!

I love Aladdin sooooo much and this song is incredible!

Brad and Lea are so good, they should do more

  • Do you mean in the movie or in general? Because Lea does a lot in theatre and has a few solo CDs. Brad I don't know about though.

  • i mean they should do more generally and also together

but if they did more disney/aladdin stuff that would be awesome too

  • The do have this really cute song called "We Could Be in Love"

  • i love this song so much i kiss my girlfriend to this

  • lea salonga is totaly good

  • beautiful arrangement, even more beautiful voices!

  • ohh i love this song

  • really nice...u should put the lyrics in the video description:D

  • You know...she really reminds me of Jasmine...She was my fave princess!

  • Love Aladdin sooooo much!

I wish there's a man like him in reality!!!

  • no they're not.. you can tell if u really watch

  • Was he lip synching? might be wrong

  • they aint lip syncin coz they r the ppl that sang it [lea salongsa and brad kane] they just dressed difrent and at the beginin it sez in spanish or watever 'lea solanga so that proves it..

  • i remembered lea salonga answered this question in an interview more than a decade ago... she said they were using high-powered microphones in the oscar's award for production numbers like this.

love brad kane. he was my crush in high school. :p

  • Best oscar musical number ever.

  • Why can't men be that romantic in reality? I wish men were romantic just like Aladdin.

  • i love the theater too to bad alot of young kids don't =[ they miss out on the magic

    it brings us

  • the video quality isnt that good, but i love how they pretty much brought the movie to life..i love this movie, this part especially

  • "I was barely born when they..." -- excuse my English, but what does that suppose to mean? born or not born? Did you hear this wonderful song when still "in the hospital"?

  • i am a theater lover.... and i thnk its good, im talking about the song...

  • I was barely born when they showed this. Damn.

  • thank you for making me feel old at 23, :) Man it feel like yesterday this movie was in theaters.

  • Me too...I was only 1 years old.

  • i really love the team of lea salonga and brad kane... the mixture of they're voice is really fantastic! it is really like... MAGICAL...

  • wow. amazing.

  • Holy crow...that was some expensive display.

  • wow fantastic great ,xxxxxxx very classic

  • i like the arrangement.. they tweaked it to fit the theatrical scene.

  • Such a perfect duet.. Lea is so amazing! They also have a song entitled "We Could be in love".. when you listen to it with your eyes closed, you can imagine them as Aladdin and Jasmine!

  • so good!

  • dude ur fucking retarted

  • aladdin is Arabian not indian.... learn history

  • This is so good!!!The perfect duet!

  • the best duet EVERRRRRRRRRRRRRR

  • i'm in love all over again..

  • r those the real singers of this song or really good singers that sound just like them?

  • Those are the actual voices

  • real singer and actual voices

  • they're the actual voices.

  • They're the real singers...Many people has revived this song but nothing beats this version...Go Lea!!! I also love their duet called "We could be inlove"

  • I thought so

  • yes...they are the real singers! this song have many versions but this was the best!

  • totally agree nothing beats the original singers..i love the real version.

  • haaaaaay lea at the oscars...i envy...tsk tsk tsk

  • Wow!!! I wish I hadn't been only 5 years old during this Academy Awards. I wish I could have seen that live! Brad and Lea sing so beautifully! ^_^

  • wow!! this song has been my fave. since I was a child. And now, even if I'm 22, I still love it... Brad and Lea look good together, aren't they? Brad is sooo cute.... He has a good voice too.. I hope they can work together again... that would be nice and something to look out.. :)

  • they could ahve done fine without the background singers in the parts they ahd it and they could have stuck with the regular score

  • I love this arrangement!

were brad and lea in the broadway cast?

  • this was not a broadway performance. this was at the oscars, the song won for best song. lea and bras sung the song in the movie

  • did they even put Aladdin on Broadway? if they didn't, they need to.

  • wow! at last i found it! been wanting to see this performance again. superb! thanks for posting! lea and brad kane did a fantastic job. i think the production team as a whole must be applauded for a job well done!

  • This staging is nauseating. I think Brad and Lea could hold the stage just fine on their own without all that extra distracting crap. Certain moments Brad & Lea are blocked by that overpopulated stage.

  • I saw this when I was like 5 and wondered who he was and if he was really Aladdin, like if he was the guy the artists based the drawing on.

  • Ace :]

  • lea salonga the best

  • whats this from? What awards are they performing at?

  • 1992 oscars.

  • ...or 65th annual academy awards.

  • voz lindaaaaaaaaaaaaa pretty voiceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • H E R M O S O

    M A R R A V I L L O S O

  • go lea and brad :) they actually look like they could be the real aladdin and jasmine

    goo lea salonga...

  • Simply beautiful! I love this! I wish I could get an mp3 version

  • Amazing! :)

  • lea panalo ka tlga..... you made the filipino proud love you uuuuuuuuuuu

  • B*A*L*L*E*R

  • lea is good! :]

  • I like the Indian music twist to it. I think that should have been the original, just to give it more originality to the 'Aladdin' culture.

  • its arabian .. ;)

  • The arabian rhythm wouldnt be fit with the movie scene. In this part, they were flying and this version didnt give me the feeling that they were flying at all. I think the percussion kinda ruined the song.

  • i wanna ride that carpet.

  • This still made me wonder why there is no broadway production of Aladdin. Disney is promoting one for The little mermaid this fall but still no Aladdin.

  • ha. and you'd wonder who'd get the role for jasmine =]

  • Are those really the actors that sing the song?

  • there were 2 sets of voice actors for the 90's disney era. The original voice actors and the singing voice actors, these 2 are the singing voice actors for jasmine and aladin. Just like in Pocahontas, Mel gibson did not sing his character songs.

  • i thought mel gibson did sing for pocahontas...it says so on the soundtrack.. ahh well.

  • mel gibson is the singer for jhon smith..and he his his voice too.... he sang in the song Mine,Mine,Mine and If i never Knew you with judy kuhn

  • who sang for mel gibson in pocahontas then? i thought it was him

  • Mel Gibson did sing in Pocahontas movie...also he sang a song, not in the original movie but included in the soundtrack "If I never knew you". This song was later included in the reissue of the movie.

  • Not all "90s Disney era" had separate speaking and singing voices...check the movie and soundtrack credits . Mel Gibson did sing in the movie Pocahontas...

  • yep! lea salonga and brad kane

  • agreed... gotta love lea, she is truly wonderful

  • love leas salonga...so world class...!!!

  • dain that gave me chills!that was amazing!!Those 2 are so cute =]

  • r they singing live?

  • Is it Brad Kane aswell?

  • Thank you so much for posting this!

  • I seriously want to sob every time Lea sings; it's so beautiful! Thanks for posting!

  • Thanks so much for this video. Tagal ko ng gustong makita to eh.

  • omg..he does look like Aladdin and she does look like Jasmin..its so cool..i love this song and i love their voices.;)
