I just beat it, and I'm REALLY wondering what the wheelchairs meant. I didn't really notice their potential significance until I saw one of the posters for the game where heather is slumped over in a wheelchair.

Tell me Dena, is there a Silent Hill game that you would consider the absolute worst in the series? If so, could you tell me which is it and why?

For me, it's 0rigins because it borrowed so heavily from previous games.

A close runner-up is Homecoming--I did like the characters and the story during the part I played, but it's just too damn hard for me and I couldn't get very far into it, plus I've heard that the story takes a bad turn and the twist is practically a rip-off of Silent Hill 2's.

Finally I have beaten SH3! So I went to see this review and I agree with everything you say about it. Not an AWESOME game, but pretty cool as a SH1 sequel tha filled a lot of gaps of my youth. Cool soundtrack, graphics and was scary as hell!!

PS: Not too excited about Shattered Memories either... leave classics ALONE!!!

The "Sexy Beam" reference is surely lost to most people in the US, even those who would get it probably don't play games like this. Anyway it was a line of Mari Yaguchi's during the Morning Musume song Koi no Dance Site. She made the phrase popular, and it became her trademark as up until then she didn't stand out in the group. I suppose it could be something else, but the time period is so close, and the motion Heather does for it is somewhat similar to Mari's... it has to be.

I have to admit Dena, this edition of GD wasn't as good as the one for Silent Hill 2. This one I felt went on a bit too long, as in a lot of it was unnecessary waffle, I really was itching for you to give all the bits to sink our teeth into but I never properly felt it came until Part 3.

Maybe for the SH4 edition you should cut it down? Keep it more concise?

I beat it on the action difficulty level Normal dying only once in the haunted house chase scene. Don't you guys know how to strafe with the lead pipe?

Actually, I had very little trouble with the monsters--it was mostly the layout of the subway station that was a huge pain for me.

And it's not ridiculously hard anyway--just noticeably harder than the two previous games.
