  • Rrrrrrrr...zzzzzzz....BORING !

  • You don't need backwards key (S) ever since it's so much slower than if you had just turned around with mouse. Also sideways keys I bind to strafe. Since S is free, it's maybe the most accessible key to bind now, which I keep interrupt on all my characters. IMO interrupt is the most important key. Q (stealth) E for escape. F for force cloak/cloaking screen.

So just a few to mention.

  • good stuff...I've played WoW on and off since 2004, and I'm a clicker by nature. I use a few keybinds, but with multiple characters it's easy to get confused if you bounce around between them a lot, so consistency is a huge help.

I like using mouse-wheel "up" for anything that helps movement (Mage Blink, Warrior Charge, etc) then shift-mod it for dps boosters/finishers (Paladin Inquisition/TV). I use mouse-wheel "down" for interrupts & shift-mod it for whatever self-heal is most often used.

  • A truly good keybinding setup means that a player should not have to to take their hand of the mouse to ever hit a combat ability. The setup suggested does. The only numbers you should use for your main 'in-action' quick slots are keys 1 - 6 as you can only reach these if your hand is over the W-A-S-D keys. Then replace buttons 7 - = , with

Q-E-R-T-F-C. Then setup the row below (bottom centre quickslots) the same way, but with +shift. This is how the Pros do it :)

  • @ingram182 Very good stuff there :D! Very detailed thank you for the input. I agree 100% :D Thank you.

  • Another thing key-bindings is superior. It's amazing once you make the switch from clicking. I would never dream of going back. It literally takes like 2 weeks on consistent use to get really good and then you will improve your actions per minute like crazy.

  • @DBNonchalant That's how it was for me too after I got used to keybinding I never thought about switching back with any game I played. Even new games I start playing I keybind all the main abilities.

  • I just started using key bindings and now I've pretty much mastered it. I use Q-E-R-F-C-X then SHIFT+Q-E-R-F-C-X for the top slot. 1-2-3-4-5-G and SHIFT+1-2-3-4-5-G for the bottom center. I haven't mapped right and left slots because most of those abilities aren't spammed so I just click those but they can be mapped.

  • @DBNonchalant He said to use V, I might consider that and implement using Alt+Q-E-R-F-C-X, Alt+1-2-3-4-5-G.

  • Nice video.

What I started doing for MMOs was to use "E-S-D-F" Instead of " W-A-S-D" for your movement, it took me about 2-3 days to get used to it but it was totally worth it as you get a whole extra line of keys in range without losing any.

  • @hubachecka Yea I tried that for a bit with wow and depending on how you play it works out pretty well forgot all about that honestly thank you :D

  • Good video. Useful info for a new player.

  • @cookiesandporn I tried to make it good for just about every type of player new and old :D

  • Nice video. (Do you die much?)

  • @sebbecr Not really at first when you start Key Binding you will but you will get used to it and it will make you faster than clicking the abilities.

  • @xxdksxxtv it was a joke :P cuz ur armor is broken hehe

  • @sebbecr Oh didn't even realize that lol sorry

  • Thanks. I'm new to MMOs, and I was getting wrecked when I did my first PvP at level 13 in a warzone. This keybinding thing is going to improve my game a lot. I appreciate an upper level offering good advice instead of yelling a newbies. Then again, yelling sometimes has its place.

  • @belleaspen86 No problem I try to help where i can and in as many different ways as i can

  • @belleaspen86 I was also new to 'hardcore' MMOs, I did runescape but eh... I set up my key-bindings a while back and I'll tell you it is a drastic improvement once you don't have to look down. You can focus on the fight more and move a lot faster around the map and around your opponent. Key-bind and you will dominate.

  • You could also do like i did, attach shift/ctrl to mouse 4/5, makes it even faster :)

  • simply.. just buy a Razer Naga ;)

  • Thx

  • @unultimated Thank you :D

  • Does random pvp help or does that get you killed in the middle of a quest?

  • @RickStrife2022 It does help doing random PVP for sure

  • @xxdksxxtv But isnt it possible on planets like tatooine to be killed in the middle of dune sea quests?

  • @RickStrife2022 I'm not real sure I just know that if you do random world pvp it helps you get better and adapt to different classes and such, as well as help you get better using all your key binds.

  • could you use shift+a,s,d? or would that be a bad idea?

  • @chavfred its what ever you want to use really but those are generally your movement keys in MMO's unless you want to use the arrow keys

  • thats easy when u have a mouse with more buttons normal 123456 on mouse and then ctrl 123456 and etc thats what i do but if u have no mouse like that then this is awsome

  • Comment removed

  • can't believe i was missing that Key Bindings tab at the bottom! damn thatt is dumb

  • @joesnub Yeah i did too for a long time it happens lol

  • Thank you so much for posting this vid! it was SO helpful!

  • Nice vid, thanks for posting

  • @SleepyWeasel15 No problem thank you for the feed back :D

  • @xxdksxxtv Got to admit, I was a clicker (new to MMO's, thanks SWTOR!) but your vid helped a ton. Got everything set up last night and made life WAY easier for my Shadow.

  • I used my numpad for movement and everything left of 5 for keybinding. I only use my mouse for dialogue boxes and occasionally selecting a target I can't tab to quickly enough.

  • @Alt131sphixiate its whatever works best for you :D These are only ideas of ways you can do things :D

  • @xxdksxxtv Definately, just wanted to throw an alternate scheme out there to get the players new to this idea thinking

  • @Alt131sphixiate Oh Definately a good idea to try every alternate scheme there is till you find the one you like. Thank you for the feedback and alternative way of doing it :D

  • Nice video, just bought the game a couple days ago and it is my first MMO so I am still getting used to it. But non-theless..thanks for the video

  • i use E,S,D,F instead of W,A,S,D gives u a more wider range of keys

  • @CrossFadeRemains That is also a very good way to go it just all depends on your preference I recommend trying both

  • what if u dnt have any fingers?

  • @CrossFadeRemains thats what you call a face roller.

  • @gotenbfp how?

  • what if u hav fat fingers? is there a keybind for that?

  • @anonymousMinaj Yeah it doesn't matter lol you can get used to it :D

  • "| §" <--- this key thats close to "1" can't be used for me... I get that stupid ticket help thingy.. First mmo i've played that i cannot remap that key, even worse why even hotkey ticket help??? so stupid...........

  • @znoW666 Try and use that key for something else when you go to the keybinding menu see if that works, if not try and find where the keybind for the help menu is and take it off. If it is bound to a key then you will be able to remove it you just have to find it in the keybinding menu.

  • @xxdksxxtv

Yeah i tryed to bind it to something else, but even so it still gives the shitty ticket system service :\ really bad made if u ask me..

  • @LLooter Yeah you can make a keyboard work just as well or better than a naga if you put the time in

  • Thanks Bro great vid I'm new to the play stye of SWTOR so i am a clicker extraordinaire, I was looking for a way to avoid buying the Naga (cant see my self spending $70 on a mouse) but this seems like a very very good alternative!

  • good stuff, i would add B to green zone tho, its easy to press with thumb.

  • @Reddharp Yeah B is also very easy just most of the time its taken by a premade bag keybind which most of the time you can replace.

  • I play on a laptop and its really hard doing PVP but this guide really helped me im no longer dieing as much

  • @SuperWaffleMovies Awesome glad I could help more coming soon :D

  • Thank you SO MUCH. very helpful

  • awesome guide dude much appreciated :D

  • @s0mojo Thank you tried to make it as helpful as possible.

  • I THOUGHT NON CLICKER MEANS I DONT HAVE TO USE MY MOUSE AT ALL. i thought i could lay on my bed and play with just the keyboard :(

  • @wiratha Thats also possible if you want to go about it that way lol

  • @xxdksxxtv how do i do that? i thought we had to use the mouse to click the MPC or the enemy we wanna attack?

  • @KyrisTV just depends how you look at it not a big deal :)

  • "non-clicker" is such a dumb term... there are 2 types of players, 'clickers' and 'binders'

  • I wish some one would make a left handed keybind guide :(

  • i used to be a clicker and at first it wasn't too bad, but now i got all these skills to worry about so i think im gonna start keybinding :D

  • @AwsomeSnowGlobes Yeah it makes things smoother for you to do while your doing anything like PVP PVE or whatever it just makes you react fast knowing there is a key there for your spells instead of having to click :D

  • @nagyclauss yes you can keybind on any keyboard

  • hello nice video ,can i ask u somthing can u key binding on normal keyboard?

  • dude fix you damn ARMOR!

and you should do this again at higher level to show how to cope with many powers.

  • @Veteran94s Yeah I wasn't worried about the armor at the time :D. But this will help higher level people as well as low level people. But I am gonna do more guides for SWTOR once I ding 50 :D

  • @xxdksxxtv good

once you know the ways of keybinding you wont go back to clicking

    i too have razor naga

and black widow so i got 5 ms

and it's good to see you are going to the deception tree

few things i would change but if it works for u thats gd

  • Nice tips, but I think i will go and buy a nagga.

  • @thiago1246 I love mine i don't know where I would be without it :D

  • I'm buying a nagga.

  • Ur on a roll putting vid after vid. And not crappy vids but vids with dedication put into them. Great tips¡¡¡!!!

Releasing videos everyday is getting tough but I am not stopping I wanna get my subs up and start live streaming those are my future plans :D but there will be a video about that tomorrow :D Thank you.
