One dislike???? Are they deaf or jst crazy? What's not to love here? Still sharing this amazing song with my friends. and on FaceBook. Hopefully building up your fan base, brother. You deserve to be acknowledged for your talent. - Jstn
this guy is one of the better artist that i have heard on you tube playing guild guitars,he does thier instruments justice. most of the guild demo,s i have heard are just strumming,i have been looking for some video clip to bring the guild to life , this guy does a good job.
Beautiful. I'd love to hear you play some of these (I listened to them all) on a mellow 12-string. You can borrow my Guild. Your work could easily be sold commercially but I thank you for posting the video and I hope to see more.
Just beautiful! (Deep Sigh) I long to sing with pickers that can really play well like you. I wish I had found your Christmas medley weeks ago, because I haven't really been in the Christmas Spirit this year. But this video reminds me what I love about Christmas....Beautiful Music!
Michael - I waited all year to post this on my FB wall today to share with all my friends your amazing talent. I have one (rhetorical) question though. youtube is great and all, but how is it none of the TV networks have you on, playing this, to brighten everybody's Christmas? Merry Christmas, buddy - Jstn
Excellent Christmas fingerstyle swing. You mistyped in your description though, that 2nd tune being "o come all ye faithful". Now I want to hear you swing "hark" as well. :D
FrostyMorn I REALLY enjoy and look up to your music. I am an aspiring banjo and guitar player. Wouldn't mind it if you took a look at my fingerstyle. I also have a fetish for guild guitars. One day I will have the money for one...
I think so... I have been playing these Christmas tunes every winter for decades and I can't recall if I learned them from someone or made them up! Probably a combination of both.
can i ask you a dull question? how old is your Guild? I'd like to have my faith restored. All the Guilds at my level are terrible now. I have a Guild that is almost as old as me and it still sounds better than it's modern equivalent.
The Guild guitar used for this recording was a brand new 2007 Tacoma build D-55. I think the builders at the Tacoma plant built fine guitars and were a credit the the Guild brand.
@wjsoc07 Hi, I also have a Guild D35 {1976} Brill guitars !!! Love it. I also Love my 2007 Tacoma built Guild D55 Natural .....Awesome !!! Beats any Martin, Gibson, Taylor etc etc etc.......... Have you still got your D35?....I could listen too FrostyMorn {Michael} play his D55 forever. American made Guilds always..!!!......
@goneoverboard2 Yes I still have my Guild D35 1986 Westerly, also I have a variety of other guitars, I have my newest an Indian Rosewood 1990 Custom made Dread, pretty much a Martin copy , an old Jap Epiphone Cabelero, Yamaha FX 335 Acoustic Electric (my beater guitar) and an 1988 Jap Washburn HB 35 Semi Hollow Electric Jazz..... I have had a lot of Fender, Gibson and other brands over the years. Yes FrostyMorn is very good with strings, I wish I could play with such precision.
No need to answer that last question, just finished watching another ten or more of your videos and saw the finger picks. Thanks again for some inspiration!
Your playing's so fluid! I picked up a Guild D-40 a few days ago, maybe one day I'll make it sound as good as that. Are you using finger picks as well as the thumb pick? Cheers and thanks!
Found you today Frosty, fine Christmas present - thanks. Love your style and so nice to hear Maple Leaf played at the correct speed - so many ruin it!

Your guitar and playing sounds very nice, is it a D55 and how have you mic'd it up?
guitarpickerjoe 2 years ago
Yes, this guitar is a Tacoma made Guild D-55. Microphone used was an AT-822 single point stereo mic about 6' in front of the guitar.

You ought to write this out. Or at least close-up on your hands so I can figure it out for myself :) Standard tuning capo 2nd?
