A Design for Life, Motorcycle Emptiness, La Tristesse Durera, There by the Grace of God, You Stole the Sun from My Heart, Kevin Carter, Tsunami, From Despair to Where, Door to the River, Everything Must Go, Suicide is Painless, So Why So Sad, The Everlasting. I listened to these tracks in order, before I even knew the Manics. Together, in this order, this string of tracks make a better album than OK Computer, not joking. Upon discovery, I don't think I have ever been so in love with music since.
Such a beautiful song. I'm 17 years old and MSP is my favourite band and my so sorry about what my generation did with the music...Manics are fantastic!
Don't worry about the viewcount of this video being so low. I reckon most people who would listen to the Manics (if they haven't already) would, deep down inside, recognise them as being crafters of genuinely brilliant music. They were big in the 90s. The thing is, it's no longer 'cool' to like genuinely brilliant music nowadays!
yeah, but still listening to the Manics 10 years after i discovered it !! i don't think anyone will say this about Bieber. It's a buy and throw artist
@chambersgirl92 yep, look for "June and Jennifer Gibbons" article in Wikipedia.
Actually I tear myself up when watching this video. Whole song, written words - they hit the nail when you know the story about those girls. As usual, MSP can tell those unusual small stories with such wideness and magnitude - amazing. It is like watching painting coming alive.
The sitar sounding arpeggios/melodies in the verses are perfect! When I listen to it the sun is rising to my mind! I think the song has a little bit the same vibe as George Harrison's Here Comes The Sun. The album's lyrics are very personal. They can be very dark but there is still hope shining through. This is a song of hope for me. Manics do write very good melodies. The whole album is great and has much depth. It's got very fine sounds and arrangements as well. I've been listening since '98.
@Vimana They are a very underrated band and songs like Design for life are absolute lyrical genius for me but i guess you have to understand the songs meanings to credit it like that. Anyway you left a lovely comment i thought it was very well said :) Marie x
@mrmojorisin291278 Thanks Marie. Design For Life is a great song as well.
I just liked to point out that they write exceptionally good music. I can appreciate it as a musician and a composer. I haven't really studied their lyrics. (Is this about The Silent Twins?) The melodies of the song are bringing hope for me not the lyrics. I really feel it. You can absolutely enjoy this song without understanding the lyrics at all. This is Real Music... (and you don't have to be a musician to Feel it.) ;-)
@94weisse They were THE best band of the 90's. And the 2000's (we'll pretend Lifeblood just didn't happen). With any luck, they'll be the best band of the 2010's too.
VEVO, youtube and GOOGLE are EVIL! Thanks.

Great music, quite like the manics. Not too fond of their lyrics though. Too much gibberish in there for my taste :)
This is one of their more coherent songs :)
